I don't think anyone took that literally.

No but I imagine there's a lot of people here who already prefer prog or house and after listening to something like this it'd go ahead and confirm their already shallow beliefs.

I know nobody's going to listen to this and assume every single song has the same arpeggio, but I can realistically see it discouraging plenty of people from looking further into a genre that's full of great music if they're willing to dig through trash like this.

I find this so fluffy and generic. If you can't tell the producer by the track, it is generic filler. It is like bad alphazone from 2000 except they actually had some good tracks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-ry2JqwIck it just sounds like bad that.

Guys like flutlicht, SHOKK, Scot Project, Alphazone pretty much took uplifting trance as far as it can go. I have yet to hear anything that even comes close to the original guys. The problem is for some reason , the western hemisphere has been inundated with awful british trance which has always been second rate generic .

hey man dont you be dissin alphazone! then again i liked the uplifting german that was pushed out in 2003 era..man they were gud times :)

This is a pretty good variety:

Those are really great "works", but i forgot them after a minute or so:) thats the problem with trance today. It doesn't stick.

That Reamsterdam track is not too bad though:)

These ones are more up my alley:

its always the same issue people who have been listening to uplifting trance for a long time (15 years for me)gets bored with it.

and the ones who are new to it cant get enough and will argue the toss with the rest of us who are not so easily pleased.

the ones who love it love producing it like kyrosa will put something into there work and it shows.

there's nothing worse in my mind trying to please other people or keeping up with the pros hence a wash of music

can't believe nobody has posted the overplayed cygnes track from claud9. i was lucky to catch it on its first release before AVB buried it, but its still a very very good production

But think about it , what would be a suitable substitute for the 'Supersaw Effect'?

A combination of other not overused waveforms?...

and the labels always say ''if you send us tracks that sound similar to what our inhouse artists release it makes no sense to sign''

pffffffffffffff

I just don't see how the new stuff comes even close to what was done from

2000 - 20003

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VsfmveRY6I

And i'm not one of those people that only likes old stuff. I love alot of new EDM but it isn't in the trance genre. And I hate the old old EDM. But for melodic trance, the epicentre of good stuff was from 2000 - 2003 and the artists were SHOKK, FLUTLICHT, Scot Project and Alphazone.

and of course p anthem by dj passion

I honestly feel bad for those that missed that era and never got to go mega raving with those tracks. I guess what i'm saying is that it was an era. move on. stop trying to recreate it as you won't come close. It would be like recreating the classical or romantic era. You will always sound like some cheap derivate unless you innovate.
