hey man, so do i...but the reality is that there is some middle ground.
i'm sure we buy a lot of the same things, but at the same time, i'm sure that we both buy things that the other would not play unless they put a gun to our heads:p

Adam, imo, the reason a lot of people object to your posts is that they are almost uniformly condescending. Granted, you have the knowledge & background to legitimately take that approach, but it's still bound to irritate people--and not just the drones and imbeciles. There are plenty of intelligent, curious people who simply haven't listened to nearly as much music or heard nearly as many DJs play out as you have, and the position that there is only a small collection of [mostly old] music that is acceptable to enjoy isn't one from which you can't expect a positive response.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but I think you're also ignoring the aforementioned group of people, and others like it. You'd get a lot further with recommendations than the current strategy of condemnation & correction. If someone likes 'Man of Wisdom' or 'The Glow,' or buys anything on Beatport, your expressed assessment is that they have horrible taste, and may as well be posting ASOT threads, since you prefer the music or styles from which that derived. 'You might like ___ by ___' is a lot more helpful than 'Someone else who did different drugs already made it, and better. this thread is soooo ignorant plz delete.'

whoa there.
quote where I said this.
i recall saying "But again, my opinion on this is really unimportant, it's a matter of priorities and tastes."
meaning, my opinion is as valid as anyones and only my own, based on my personal life priorities and tastes.
however, I would definitely say that such a person should dig deeper.
why do you all feel the need to review my posts? if you don't like them, put me on ignore.

this is far more condescending and pretentious than anything I posted in this thread.

i went through all my music tagged as 'minimal tech house' and this one that came out 13 years ago is the only one i listen to that makes me say, damn, i need to play this record more. the others can be somewhat nice to listen to, but mostly its because of familiarity and or associated memories with the tracks and not visceral and uncontrollable enjoyment of the music itself.
move d - hurt me

At some point I just was able to stand there and be like, what the am I listening to? Why do I come here? Is this really what I want to do with my time? Is this how I want to lose my hearing? Is this what I want to spend my money on? I would buy these $200 crates at Beatport and then a month later I couldnt even remember the names of the tracks, much less be inspired to play them.
If you went through a phase of enjoying that music (and if you weren't enjoying it, why were you spending so much time and money on it?) then you should understand why others do now. And you've just got to leave them to have the epiphany you describe above, if they ever want to have it. Repeating the same retaliatory rant about tech house (which I agree with, by the way) at the slightest opportunity isn't far from the people who wage war with trance kids over and over. This thread should be about Shed, not the music Shed critics listen to.

I'm simply pointing out that that's (your last sentence there) not the way it usually comes across.

I didn't say I dislike reading them. I thought it was worth a post pointing out why this back-and-forth winds up happening in a lot of threads, though. As I mentioned, you do know a lot more than most people on here. Regardless of what I think about your approach (a stance which isn't necessarily represented in the above post), they're still informative.
Besides--I only ignore spam bots and st3nc.

I fail to see how, or to whom.

You're not the first to make mention of this. What are the best 3 of his that you like?
