It came from a bird.

Weak point - what does this matter?

It is fairly easy to determine from the meat itself.

Do you see birds dropping from the air all the time just for the heck of it. It was fine - actually it was better than fine

I'm off. People having been hawking for centuries.

You are so bloody paranoid.

Why do I bother?

That seemed like the most appropriate photo....

:stongue:

EDIT (I can't help myself):

Why does it matter?! The older the meat, the longer it has been sitting there rotting and accumulating bacteria. Raw meat is only safe to eat for a short period of time.

No... you cannot tell what the sanitary conditions were if you have not been at the death site. The meat could have been laying in dirty water, or near other rotting carcasses, etc. etc.

It was a bird? How do you know that the bird didn't die of something strange? One of the more common ways of transmitting diseases, especially of the brain, is through eating the meat of an animal/human that already has it. You cannot be sure how it died.

As for the falconry stuff.... dude it takes a LOT of training to get a wild animal to do anything we want it to do. A random wild falcon on your little hike is not going to respond to your ridiculousness.

For your own safety, stop eating random , ESPECIALLY meat.

For those of you new to the COR, this is the point you get your bag of popcorn, crack rocks or whatever passes for light entertainment and watch as things get out of hand.

They were nice to me.

Either that or they have learned to attack non horned humans.

Be sure to put this on your resume.

"Birds like me".

Congratulations you are learning. This is the same brilliant logic that is applied to meat befor you eat it.

So you are saying the bird was trying to kill me, through the same tactics employed by Ghengis Khan?

hmm maybe it was a plane. of course it was a bird.

Actually I think it may have flown to edmonton, indicated by the link above - and as you can see it goes for living things. (my only concern)

Wouldn't that make my antiposse on TA happy.

You don't interact with wild animals often do you? I have almost never failed in getting the response I have aimed for with wild animals - only the bear/moose I tried to frighten off maybe outsmarted me --- or helped me when I was off on a long hike one day. I was picking berries so I swung a stick around and howled like a wolf. Then half an hour or hour later or so when I was good and tired I started hearing it again...... I think it was a moose, didn't see it, but I could hear it. I thought I was successful in scaring it off the first time - the second time it was more so successful in having me book it as I was loosing my strength. It is funny though it ended up a KM away - if it was a bear I'm sure it could have attacked, it is peculiar that the moose would track me all that way... unless there were two. (I figure there is only a 10 or 20ft gap in hearing a bull moose grunt and I had no moose scent to attempt to start my own moose milk enterprise) (it sounded more like a bear than a moose though.. but it wasn't a mean growl not much edge but not as abrupt as a moose..?) Running from a bear is not necisarily the way to go - none the less I survived and there was no contact. Pretty sure it was a moose or two.

It could have been trained previously.... and left. Hawking clubs release hawks into the wild.

It isn't random - it is food from nature. I rather trust the woods as a food source more than the industrial plant.

FYI: Dead farm animals in ontario can be stored for over 200 days before being required to be disposed of.

Yeah, but you don't eat dead farm animals. Meat (for consumption) comes from slaughter houses and they have very strict rules on how it should be stored.

quote:

Meat and poultry products are chilled immediately after slaughter to acceptable internal temperatures which insure the prompt removal of the animal heat and preserve the wholesomeness of the products. Generally, red meat carcasses (which are above 90° F at the time of slaughter) are chilled in a blast cooler with rapidly moving chilled air, and, in some instances, a cold water shower.

Poultry is required to be chilled to 40° F or less within specified time frames, depending upon the size of the carcass. Whole birds and parts of major size are chilled in ice or ice and water media. Poultry parts are chilled in ice, air or water spray with continuous drainage. Giblets must be chilled to 40° or below within two hours of slaughtering the birds.

Go eat some more bird droppings you weird ing psycho.

William, do you also find powerups in your treks through the woods? Mushrooms that cause one to grow to intimidating sizes? Ever tried robbing a bank after eating one of these wild mushrooms? It's great, you get so much money that you can in turn spend on supermarket meat, you don't even have to rely on birds anymore. Including trout.

Also the mushrooms let you shoot fireballs out of your hands and make all bad music good, which is rather a nice little perk, you know? We're both smart enough to realize that most music is pretty awful, so in a world like opposite world, most music is probably that much gooder.

But I diverse =- the point is that things you collect out in the worlds and forests might look and smell like meat, it can even add to your bonus level points and fortify your constiution, but it's just no replacement for a proper, well-balanced meal. Also, treasure. It's not as good as treasure like chalices and crowns behind secret doors. Somebody's counting those, you know.

It's helpful to me, Thanks for your effort! It's quite useful.

So glad I could be of assistance.
