I think it was a moose, didn't see it, but I could hear it. I thought I was successful in scaring it off the first time - the second time it was more so successful in having me book it as I was loosing my strength. It is funny though it ended up a KM away - if it was a bear I'm sure it could have attacked, it is peculiar that the moose would track me all that way... unless there were two. (I figure there is only a 10 or 20ft gap in hearing a bull moose grunt and I had no moose scent to attempt to start my own moose milk enterprise) (it sounded more like a bear than a moose though.. but it wasn't a mean growl not much edge but not as abrupt as a moose..?) Running from a bear is not necisarily the way to go - none the less I survived and there was no contact. Pretty sure it was a moose or two. |
