Hehehe I was just about to ask you to explain the screenshots Storyteller. Looks interesting.

Do you know of any good videos that look at some of the functions of that tracker? I'm keen to just sit here for 10-15min looking at how someone works the damn thing.

Man I miss production. I haven't touched anything in months :(
Can't wait to get the PC back downstairs, set everything up again and go crazy :D

Not really. There's a bunch of Renoise video's on youtube though. You can donwload a demo on www.renoise.com which basically has 2 limitations: No asio support and no wav export. The first doesn't have to be a problem and the second can be circumvented by using a wav exporter vst.

I think they've got some nice tutorials on their website as well though. :)

Edit: This one will help nicely I guess!

Yea that's perfect! Watching it now.

EDIT - Looks interesting but I have a feeling the novelty for me would wear off quickly. Looks tedious.

Thanks cyro! I agree its a very underrated DAW, you can do almost anything quickly and smoothly, the mixer console is so awesome & i love the way it handles audio, but because i use mostly midi I'm still able to get my ideas out quicker and more freeform with ableton (especially using the session view), so it is still my main DAW for now. I'm thinking I might go the route of doing instrumental tracks in Live and vocal tracks in Studio One because frankly I don't like how Live is with audio, it just doesnt feel right to me for some reason.

How do you like it?:)

Couldn't make it all fit but that's most of it. If you want to hear it it's the bottom link in my sig.

It's never going to replace Sonar as my go-to DAW, but I do like S1 for getting ideas down quickly, or just when I feel like a change of environment. I love how almost every action is drag/drop. It really is an easy/intuitive DAW to work with and I agree that its audio handling is far superior to Live's. I still wish they'd improve it in a few key areas, particularly improved buss routing and track folders. But, I'm sure those will come in time.

At last! Another logic user!

Interesting though Chris - especially the layout and setup. Just a question (not that I want to trun this into a routing thread) but why such random read automation selections? and what's with the strange track numbers and bus groups - I can't figure out the logic of it...

Mad for Brad
pretty unorganized. I prefer to encapsulate as much as I can and use folders as much as possible. And if a loop is used, have it triggered via Kontakt to reduce instrument tracks.
