but in saying that..
sometimes thats why you would post it in there as you may be after that feedback |

I don't post there because no one gives feedback over there. Also, the tracks you listen to are , and when you give feedback the person never even replies, so I doubt they even read it.
There's too many randoms over there who only want to get more hits on their tracks to bump it up in popularity. Its a bit e. |

Same here. Still, I try to look over there on a semi-daily basis to see if anything catches my interest but, because I'm usually at work when I'm listening, I don't always take the time to comment. :( |

I think if a promotion forum concept was to work, it would really need to be based on a more advanced forum.
If this forum had tags, and had the ability to somehow enforce a quota of posts to tracks uploaded, it would be pretty workable IMO.
Then people could look for tracks they might like based on genres, and it would stop people just posting their own work while never contributing to the community.
But as it is, this forum hasn't been updated in at least 5 years or something, so I can't see it happening. |

I just posted a track-by-track review on a complete album there that was greeted with a deafening silence. Dunno why I even bothered.
Not that I think this place is any better with people bickering endlessly about insignificant matters and newbies marching in thinking they're some sort of an authority. |

^^^ That's been exactly my experience there as well.
Its all about getting more views on youtube/more plays on soundcloud. |

To be honest, I'm finding it hard to find time to post anywhere on TA at the moment.

Honestly, I only ever really go there when I have a track to submit for feedback. This is only happens every few months.
When I post a track though, I always actively give feedback to others, not just those who comment on mine. Then once my track has disappeared down the pages, I leave until the next time.
Why don't I go there when I don't have a track to show? Because, most stuff on there is okay to , usually painfully generic and I've got better things to do with my time. |

| Im not a big poster here, nor the other forum, but i think it would be a good thing with one forum with finished productions and one with wip´s. |

Wanting feedback is different to promoting a song. Maybe they should be in different forums? |
Yes ^ this.
I can't be @rsed with people pimping signed stuff - it's just a conveyorbelt of pride that adds nothing to the forum - unless it's one of us regulars that maybe want to broadcast a 'sucess' at last.
Those ones that just look like bill boards I dont even check. Ofteb those posters do not contribute to asny discussion anyway and have stupid confusing long names and titels that are utterly meaningless to me like - "billyvoncorbet, feat matty vs sonyja, mash up of eyegazer". |

I didn't say it was crap, I said it all sounded the same. |

Right now in the MP forum there's my track which is uplifting trance, a 105 BPM chillout track, two ambient tracks, prog trance, a clubby track from Sako and a progressive track from Richard Butler. And those are just the top few threads right now
I don't know where you were lead to think everything sounds the same but in my experience it's nothing like that. |
