It worries me that maybe the event is repairing to bring in other genres, which for me is sad because it really was the "super bowl of trance" and i still have yet to attend one...

music is always changing, no need to pigeon hole an entire 25k person event to 1 genre. people flipped out when SXSW started having DJ tents, variety is not a bad thing :)

Yeah I like the idea of it just being a pure trance event. I'm not sure what other genres they would add, but as long as people like Will.I.Am and Lil Jon are kept out, I'm sure it should continue to be a great party.

Simple... but crap. I don't know... Energy just sounds lame to me. I kind of agree with the other post though... look at what's happened to Sensation now versus the 2000-2005 Sensations. It's jsut not the same as it was.
The thing will still sell out. You've got such a reputation for the event that I can't help but see ID&T not getting that thing to sell out.
It's like change Monster Massive to Massive... or Electric Daisy Carnival to Carnival... or Love Parade to Parade. It just kills the old feel of the theme. Oh, and this opens the door for more anthems like the last one from Sander van Doorn. It was not anthem quality at all. It was an okay song at best.

Anyway, Until you see Lil Jon standing on stage yelling , , bitches, YEAY WHAT!!!!! You won't understand the slippery slope that genre mixing is. Sure they plan to keep it not too different, BUT then suddenly you have new employees, new revenue, new crowd, etc.... The demand will change... Tghus changing the party from being one of the most consistently balanced genre shows in the world. to then being like every other massive where its just a bunch of kids going to a "raVe" to pop "x"

i think this is an awful idea. im happy to say i was lucky enough to experience trance energy in 2008 as a strictly trance event. this was the one true trance sanctuary left that i looked forward to returning to in 2011 and now with ticket sales beginning in just about 3 weeks, i feel as tho its time for me to move on to other parties in other countries where they stick to what works. i think them changing the name and now possibly the genres is really going to take away what so many of us knew as TE. i know friends ive talked to who i met at TE 2008 arent happy about this. sensation white is NOTHING like it used to be when it was an all trance event. the lineup for sensation each year in amsterdam imo has been complete crap. another huge party ill most likely never experience now because of the changes. and while i love house music as well, it was the true trance events that were still left that i always looked forward to.
however, the good news of all this is that ID&T actually smartened up for 2011 and moved this event back to the middle of winter where it belongs and not in april. considering the trip to TE last year was double the cost that it was in 2008 which is why i didnt attend. this event being in february again makes flights and trip packages to holland much much cheaper...we can only hope for a good lineup
oh well, looks as tho 2011 will be the year for time warp where they know to keep it strictly techno because thats what works and what the fans come to hear.
