The djm800 has been out for a while now im sure pioneer is already working on a mixer to rival this. Ill just stick with my ttm 57sl. I do think im gonna be adding some novation dicers to my setup here soon cuz i use turntables and they are perfect for me. A&h shoulda came out w a mixer like this years ago pioneer already won that market over.

Erm, they already did bring out a new top end mixer, the djm2000, and it's just as cack as the 800 just double the price.

The 800 is not the industry standard as you asert. Maybe in small hiphop party clubs where you have to mix beyonce's latest in to a dance mix of MGMT but most of the clubs here in la have A&H unless it's rider specified otherwise.

I also have a feeling the DB4 is going to sound rather good, even if I hate "dj fx" with a passion.

I have to disagree with that. I've played at many clubs in LA and most have either a DJM800 or a TTM57. The times I''ve used an A&H have only been at Avalon (Xone 92), Circus (Xone 464), and at my own events (Xone 92). When I played at Vanguard we had a DJM800. Most other clubs I played at have either DJM 800 or TTM57 but mostly the 57 because of the Serato integration.

I dont use the 800. I think it is crap. But i see them everywhere. On tv. In clubs. Im in the northeast us. Most clubs have the cdjs and djm. I use neither.

What hip hop dj would use the 800? The crossfader isnt made for a hardcore scratcher. They actually sell a replacement fader for the 800 which was made to suit a turntablist.

Thats funny i have a friend who lives in la. He says its pretty much a toss up between the 800 and 92 at clubs.

Im not a fan of fx either. Use echo and roll out in serato occasionally but thats it. Wish the ttm57sl had a decent filter...

Well those are clubs I've seen them in :p

Playhouse also had a 92 both when I was there a few weeks ago and the time before which must have 6 months earlier.

All the other rooms in avalon had A&H (downstairs had a 62), as well as vanguard but in fairness I haven't been there in a long while.

I've also never seen a Pio at the standard rooftop parties either (but they often change there).

But I've never seen a TT57 in EDM clubs - only the "party" / hollywood DJ style (you know what i mean) type clubs where it's one DJ all night playing top 40 and hiphop from the laptop.

I think it's called "the rest" :p

Seriously though, from what I saw last of clubs in london, the 800 was certainly not eh defacto standard either.

One thing you have to factor is how many Dj's pio have sponsored - honestly, it's ridiculous how much free kit they give away to people just to dominate endorsements.

in fairnes, I don't think pio are terrible - I just don't think their stuff is great quality especially baring in mind the cost, and other manufacturers such as A&H and vestax make far superior equipment, with so much less hype.
