It's a "reality" (read: gender-based inequality) that most men are all too happy to perpetuate, as combined with the fact that men are judged FAR less harshly than women on looks, it gives them more or less carte blanche to stick their cocks wherever they please without having shame heaped upon them afterwards.
The big paradox, of course, is that men love women who are sexually outgoing and showing off their sexuality, yet when women actually use the advantage this gives them on the sexual playing field, they are suddenly turned into "whores". It's all very irrational and old fashioned, much like religion, which unsurprisingly has spawned a good deal of these attitudes to begin with. |

I'm not sure I agree with any of this, especially the first paragraph.
I would argue that it has more to do with biology and the natural inclination for males to want to procreate. While your brain may tell you to use a condom, the natural desire is to mate. Women get stuck with raising the offspring, therefore have more incentive to be more selective, which is completely the opposite of what you're trying to say when you claim that men are judged less harshly on looks. |

It's not necessarily the opposite. Men can be judged just as harshly in other ways, it's just that those ways often take longer to evaluate than the question "Is she hot or not?"

You vastly overestimate just how much we are at the mercy of our instincts. We're humans, not animals. We no longer have sex with procreation always being the main goal, we do not we have a society where the woman automatically is designated to raise offspring simply because she gives birth, there is no pressing need to carry on our species with so many people currently on the planet etc. etc.
I strongly believe that to a large extent, this issue comes down to the established norms and morals that have been passed down over generations from various units of authority, such as the church. And who has almost exclusively been at the helm of such units of authority through these generations? Men, of course. As the influence of these units of authority has dwindled, so have women's compulsions to stay in the gender patterns that were predefined for them. No wonder, as they were largely predefined by men. |

1) we are all just animals, but sex drive is not because we want to procreate. Sex drive exists and procreation is the byproduct of what we naturally desire. Sexual fulfillment. Some people do have the desire to procreate but this is not the same or even really connected with the sex drive.
B) guys want a sexually experienced girl just like girls do. Because, they want the good sex connected with someone who knows what they are doing. Men just have a lot of jealousy issues because of their insecurities with their own sexuality. Sure, a guy could have been with a lot of girls but he wants to be the best partner his girl has ever had. Due to insecurities this usually means the guy hopes the girl has had very few partners.
iii. These are just a couple thoughts on the subject and I know there are great arguments to why women are expected to be modest and such in such which have nothing to do with the insecurities of males. But, I think that it is at least a factor in the double standard |

I agree with the guys being allowed to get away with not having to keep up appearances.
I think its societal.
I heard a good explanation of the rearing aspect of this development from a teacher a while ago.
When boys are bad when they are younger the phrase to describe it is something along the lines of "boys will be boys" and its sort of shrugged off.
But if a girl is acting bad the phrase is "thats not very lady like!" and is scolding.
There is just more of a societal demand in western cultures for women to be proper. |
