I know where you're coming from. Both my GF and work colleagues (ESPECIALLY) have berated me for being on TA, but it has been a source of learning for me in the finer details of EDM production and I have friends here so the social aspect is the same. Some of the humor on TA is also ing genius on occasions, yourself included Richie.
I also really do know what you mean about that "anguish" - with the pressure and hours in this industry I wonder how it stays together but in my particular job, there are many hours of severe intensity and also times of waiting for hours for someone else to do their thing, which you have to fill, and TA is some of that time. but yes, I'm lucky in that I have a lot of patience and I'm somewhat of a diplomatic personality when it come to confrontation (even though I do have my limits or off trail moment as Eddie I'm sure will attest to).
It's a real shame that you feel this place hold nothing for you anymore, but I do completely understand because I know exactly what your situation is and the other people I know in the same postion as you don't have a spate moment to themselves, ley alone time for online forums. It's difficult to justify TA time sometimes when you're in those circles.

It was really "CHEAP SHOT" my friend and I'm not really sure is worth of responding to it if you really believe that's the best you can say about ALL OF US here.

We need not turn this into another studio jock vs. bedroom producer drama. I seem to recall M4B saying months ago that he was just having fun and killing time here until work picked up again.
Everybody gets busy from time to time and doesn't have time to check their favourite internet forums or social networks. It's really no big deal, and it helps if you don't take everything personally. |

The category was quite clear. if that is where you fit, that is your prerogative. It wasn't a cheap shot. It was an angry retort from your pages of bile having to take the constant goading from people that know nothing about music. And yes, most of you are hacks but some are nice to converse with. This was really meant for those hacks that think their big break is on the way and act like they are approaching the threshold of not being a hack when it really is an asymptote that will just keep getting closer but never get there. These are the individuals I don't care to answer to. |

| there wasn't an entrance fee. I 'm still trying to get the results for this one and pay the winners but I just couldn't be bothered to post the marks which was sort of the point. It took quite a bit of my time and it was nice to hear that a few tracks were signed but I think you can understand at this point., I don't see why I would spend the time. |

You are smart guy and I'm not really sure why you want to complicate your LIVE more than already is - doesn't have to go that way man, I never used your help/advice and I may not in the future but this doesn't mine that I have to disrespect you or/and personally attack you or your creditability as professional, be who you want to be, but please don't effect with your personal "OPINION" live of another person/producer/member/human-being here - this is only your own image you are creating on this TA site and that "one" you can destroy quickly.

Theres a simple flaw in his logic at the point he goes "all edm producers" and then transitions that to "your perogative". Its not a perogative of any kind when the words you used were absolute and addressing ALL EDM producers as loop arranging monkeys.
Its a sign of disrespect aimed at nearly everyone who hasn't been studying classical for the last 28 years.
I think the fact is you can't change peoples personalities, but you can absolutely change the way you respond to peoples personalities.
I will do that myself by having no part in future competitions, no part in anything that is remotely affiliated to M4B in anyway. But if I make a thread a week down the road, asking a serious amateur question, and have to deal with his derailment of a topic that is important to ME, I won't be having it, and I can guarantee I won't last here which is ok with me.
I like this place a lot, but like I said I'm just another member on a bus that has no driver behind the steering wheel. |

It would a dick head thing to say but there was no declarative statement that could be decided as true or false. Logic has no place in that statement.
And of course I was being disrespectful. Do you honestly think the people here attacking me deserve any more ? |

Its an insult, ANY insult is considered flawed logic/reasoning, does not matter if its conditional or declarative.

You are right about it not being declarative, but it is also not conditional from what I can tell. A conditional statment would read, "to all of you EDM producers who are thickheaded".
The condition is clear, not all EDM producers are thickheaded.
You ordered your words however like "all of you thickheaded EDM producers", you took out the condition, and followed the noun "EDM producer" with "thickheaded", that then becomes a "modified noun", not a condition, you essentially label all EDM producers as thick headed.
Order of words means a lot in grammar, I'm no grammar expert, maybe I'm wrong, but that did not sound conditional to me.
At any rate, it does't matter.
What matters is when you say "Do you think the people here attacking me deserve anymore", and no they don't - right now they don't however
I tend to believe this thread was started for you insulting other members, not viceversa. And the real arguement in this thread seems to be who started this whole mess. Some people say its you, other people say its members like me who are driving this place to .
The FACT IS, it doesn't matter. Maybe some people are taking it too lightly, maybe others like myself have blown things out of proportion.
The ONLY thing I ask from you in the future (like you care what an inexperienced producer like me recommends anyway) is that you follow the little strategy you seemed to have outlined somewhere else in this thread.
You say you only insult people who deserve it, but I don't think this thread would be here if that was 100% true. TA obviously enjoys a witty smart ass like yourself, theres been a lot of entertaining threads on this board, and sometimes learning can be a rather dull process. So if anything you can be credited for that. I just think at
times you are entirely too hard on people and you know that. If people don't do things to your standards we become incompetent , instead of people who are still undergoing the same type of processes you went through. And it seems at times like you're almost insulting yourself (which maybe is why you don't take it as seriously as we do sometimes).
I don't think theres any magical solution to end all of this. I think its really simple like Digi said, we all just need to chill the out. People insulted you, you insulted us, people are always going to hate certain members no matter what, maybe people are intimidated by you, I know I'm not. I just see myself in your position being much happier than you tend to act around here.
Rather than use your accomplishments as a reason to be happy in life, it always seems like your throwing them in other peoples faces like you don't even value them yourself.
People who value their accomplishments don't use them as weapons to put other people down (what intuition tells me).
But like I said it doesn't matter. The fact is if you bothered me that much all I have to do is leave, I felt like I had to get some crap off my chest, and I did that. We can still push this topic further but like kit said this is more depressing than enlightening. I feel bad being part of this mess, and in response I'm taking a vacation myself rather soon. There was a time when I didn't give a about anyone and came here to learn, and odd now I'm always wasting tons of time trying to prove myself to people I'm not even sure I respect.
Its ing crazy, and I need to take a vacation just like cryo to reevaluate some of my own priorities.
