There is a work in progress sticky in the promotion forum but it gets no love. Regular poster or not I'd rather see this sub-forum just for technical support, hardware advice, reviews and tutorials. |
Now that I'd appreciate. Solves all problems. Only I've never seen it. |

| TA has it's good days and its bad days I think we all welcome most threads relating to help or advice on certain specific techniques and stuff. I wish there were more of those asking good questions and less wanting feedback :) |

Personally, I would prefer WIPs to be in the promotion forum, unless there are very specific questions that relate to production needing specific feedback.

I don't understand why anyone would promote themselves with unfinished work. I mean it only makes sense to me to post unfinished stuff here and then promote the finished product in the Promo forum. Then again there's an obvious difference with just bragging about your track and genuinely asking for advice.
I also don't like the whole "if it's a regular poster then whatever goes" thing because it just creates an unnecessary divide between oldies and newbies and can even scare off some of them. Rules should be the same for everyone. |

Not really, when I first got here and I saw people posting their tracks here I never thought to do so, because we obviously have the promo forum and I was fine with using that. There's no intimidation factor with only having regulars post their tracks in a different section for different advice, I just figured I had to wait before I got some kind of recognition here before I did it myself.
It's not really an "unnecessary" divide, it's probably arbitrary and subjective but so is everything else on the internet. It's definitely more acceptable for an established regular to post their track here than it is for someone who's new. |

This makes a lot of sense, however, most people don't take it like that. The common belief seems to be "Nobody posts in the Promo Forum, so I'll post in Production Studio because it's the only way I'll get any responses".
I think promo should be the place for all requests for feedback on tracks as a whole. Whether or not the work is finished, if you post a track and ask people to listen to it then you are promoting it. That's different than say, posting here and asking why your basses are , and posting a short sample of your work that is just enough for people to make suggestions. |

Seems like another loop hole. "Please listen to my crappy master," will suffice and people will naturally say something about the track.
If the thread involves listening to a track, it goes into Promo. Everything else goes to production. |

Nobody's forcing you to listen to anything. |
