Dear TXTA, why do we always get the same washed out talent over and over again? What is up with the lack of freshness with 99% of events around here?
Are there any events where actual "prog" trance/house is played, not pop music? A big event? An underground gathering? I seek a mecca for fresh prog and an environment that is not pretentious but also not trashy as .

i think people kinda feel like that everywhere.i know i feel that way about dc.heres the latest dj theyll be having this week:
i know i know they have to make money but still.
there isnt an event/dj i want to see for the next several months here.which is fine sometimes since i wind up keeping my money and just dj at home
just waiting for someone to come along.... |

The texas edm scene is dwindling, and TXTA has been dead for a long time.
But, hey, Nightculture is still bringing Oakenfold and Ferry this month.  |

| if you are form DC how can you complain about ur local scene ... you just had Gareth and Tiesto back to back weekend .... the line up at Fur and Lima are always good... both those clubs are amazing... i know you have paul d this weekend but you have Avicii on thurday... paaalease Glow pulls in more guests then NYC some times |

Herrmmmm, oakenfold who set the bar for extorting mass amounts of money and commercializing EDM, and Ferry Corsten, one of the founders of unicorn lazer trans.
Sounds like it will be a blast.
Or I suppose I could see Rusko cuz dubstep is so ferkin underground hahahhaha hype muzak.
Or I suppose I could go to a rave and listen to some repetitive trashy as electro with a bunch of cracked out teenagers.
What I really should have done is have seen LTJ Bukem earlier this month :( |

| i dont get it ... i mean there really isnt much night life in dc for music but two have two clubs that hold their own, i dont get how you can go wrong .. Ravi brings in some pretty good talent like i said... sure Lima and Fur arent a black market party in some warehouse in brooklyn till 11am the next day but if i wouldn't be bitchin like you ... Enjoy your "texas edm" scene it sounds like you are having a blast :crazy: |

without a doubt ... only saw gareth at EZ and he threw down a good set to open the weekend and his new cd is pretty good. I am sure if you were in NYC you would go check him out at Cielo a week from today. And tiesto is tiesto he sells out stadiums and arenas all over the world.. how is that not talent, he doesnt make all that money for no reason? And i am sure you saw him when he was down in texas in the beginning of last year. Maybe hes not the same guy back in early 2000s but thats a different topic.. Saw him 4 times this year, i mean his set was nothing like NYE at roseland but still had a great time.
BTW .. who would you consider tallent then? |
