Bull. We are a representative democracy, and we always have been.

The "people" don't have a goddamn ing thing to do with the government, they elect politicians to go and make decisions for them. Republicans who tell the people that they're going to go "Shake up Washington" are just telling the public that they will repeal everything the Democrats put forward. Cut spending from the Department of Education? Repeal the 12th and 14th amendment? What the is wrong with this country when these people are allowed to make decisions?

Yeah, bro, them Tea Party folks really got what it takes to switch things around, huh?

If elected, their votes will be for things like stopping out of control spending and government growth... so yes, they can begin the process of de-nourishing the tumor that's feeding on a host running out of sustenance.

So then, uh, they kind of do have something to do with government... considering those politicians can't make decisions without being voted into office. :stongue:

Uhhh... what's wrong with cutting Dept. of Education spending? It's overinflated already, and our school bureaucracy is a mess.

Nobody's pushing repeal of the 12th, but what's wrong with repealing the 14th amendment? In case you didn't notice, we sort of have a major illegal immigration problem in which anchor babies contribute to. Your own Democrat Senate majority leader railed against this in 1993, as you can see here; only lately with his political neck on the line did he flip flop:

It's the Democrats that always say "The Constitution is a living breathing document that must change as the times change to reflect current issues and problems!" But you aren't saying that in this case are you? If polling sources showed that 51% or more of illegals would vote Republican, you bet your ass the Democrats would be for repealing the 14th... but they represent a major voting block for Dems with hands out for the usual addictive social benefits... therefore, repealing the 14th amounts to outrageously outrageous outrage.

Does anyone ever actually decrease government spending? I mean, the budget size increased even under the sainted Ronnie Reagan, you know.

Yes yes... however let's look at things in context.

There is not necessarily anything wrong in itself with deficit spending. It just depends on what the goal is.

I seriously hope in 2 years a seriously destitute person deprived of the ability to find shelter or work or any of the basic needs citizens require does something horrible to you just for the change in your pocket to feed their starving children.

Then I hope that you realize as you lay hurt that maybe taxes are a good thing because it would have saved your stupid ass from having to be mugged or stabbed, or whatever happens.

You're retarded. You almost make it seem as if you're a republican for the sheer sake of being one.
Lews
Rachel Maddow > Keith Olbermann.

I'm amused by Keith, but he definitely strays into Glenn Beck territory. He's obviously not half as bad as Beck, but still. He tends to blindly ignore the Left messing up and just focusing on attacking the Right his entire show.

WhooCares
the far-right, racist-bigoted-extremists have hi-jacked the republican party...and those same ones hijacked the tea party movement..
.it's insane to even think of electing any of em..we'll be taken back to the 60's if it were up to them.

they spew about less gov. but switch face once elected...
