When people argue with U about TRANCE....

Hello ppl ;)
Just wondering... I guess that most people here must have people around where they live or even mates who don't share the passion for TRANCE :D
In my area it's not too bad, quite a few of my mates like most styles - that isn't too bad really. However, there are a few areas nearby and few Clubs which are just ******* only Garage, RnB, Rap, etc - complete ******* :whip:
Anyways, I guess most people must have come across people who have argued with U about trance.... what do U say?
In some areas we need a TRANCE ARMY :) :cool: |

Well, I won't waste my breath on argueing with them... If they are so short-minded that they can't understand likeing Trance it's their problem and I won't bother fixing it when they don't want a fix...
If they would ask me what do I like about it I will tell them but I won't argue with them.
Ussually these people think Trance is stupid, simple, pointless music and the proof to that is that only stupid people listen to it.
For myself I can say that people who know me think of me as a smart person so they would simply start wondering what is it that is so good about Trance that an intelligent man would like. |

Just my words! the place i live, is 95% of the ppl non-trance/techno minded and after a few discussions i stopped arguing with ppl about this subject, music taste is a kinda individual thing just like ur food taste, or anything like that! and the thing about all ppl think that if u listen to trance/techno ur just a st00pid mofo on E 24/7, so when meeting ppl having that attitude, stop bothering talking to them, cause u will NEVER get their mind changed in most cases!
funny to see this thread, cause i just thought about the same! im getting this "trance sucks" like every single day.. from my female friends.. (tho some of my male friends say the same) so i kinda stopped replying back on it.. and changed subjuct.. and started talking about the weather :) |

i don't bother is arguing back...
i get it constantly every single day because my brother thinks he is superior to me just coz his older and thinks that snoop doggy dog is the man when it comes to music :rolleyes:
so i just sit in silence and don't retaliate becoz i know that we are never going to agree...
and honestly i don't want a wanka like that to be into trance :D |

In Holland are most off the ppl also non-trance/techno/dance minded. (there are also a lot of trance/techno/dance/ minded ppl) And most of the ppl where I argued with all said Trance and all sucks, give me RnB and HipHop. But the probleme with most of that ppl is that they don't know what real Trance is. They only know the commercial Trance tracks and songs like Boozywoozy.
I just always say well, don't judge if you don't know what ur talking about, just goto some good party or download a gig from some good dj and then we talk again.

same here rinus, most of the people where i live are into rock, which i really cant stant, i dont mind that like a diff. genre of music than i do, its just the fact that these people cant see past the likes of lasgo and ian van dahl, and they class trance as these mainstreem artists who make horrible cheesey music,
i suppose we should just ignore these people but i get really pissed off sometimes,

i live off campus in college and i have two roommates....
whenever im listening to trance or if the topic comes up with other friends, one roomate always says
"i dont get it, (looking at others), at first i thought he was listening to the same song over and over, until sy(other roomate) told me there different songs, sy said if i listen to it enough, ill notice it myself. Then one day i looked at his playlist and he had alot of songs lol"
this wasnt so bad until like the 100th time he said it. the second roomate actually likes the stuff but not enough to get the songs himself. He just asks me to burn him some cd's so he can listen to it in his car when hes high.
Out of the friends i have in college there isnt one person who is into trance. They either hate it, dont care, or just say " OH this is nice,uh, can u burn me a cd" |

Hey peeps, out of all the people in my college I have no friends who like trance which is quite hard for me as it is my main interest at the mo. Most people listen to heavy metal, Stereophonics, Kylie or commercial euro-dance such as Lasgo, Milk Inc, etc.
When I say I listen to trance I usually get a negative vibe towards me and people try to stereotype me and the type of music. How unaware they are that trance music just aint simple repetitive "drum and hi-hat" music, but that it often conveys emotion and is quite complex at times.
I've tried to convert my friends however one person dissed Push- Strange World (2000 Remake) after listening to 4 seconds of it :whip: How unfair does that seem, to make a judgement of a piece of music without listening to it all? Anyways I better stop ranting on, its just something Ive been wanting to get off my chest thats all. |

| If anyone says they dont like trance I just assume they haven't heard any "good" trance and then try to recommend some tunes to listen to. If after that they still say they don't like trance well...I've never had that happen so I dunno. God help the person that feels that way. :) |
