Can't really tell, probably that means something in the middle. Not on one specific side.
No.

Since it doesn't sound like anything over-traumatic, I think these three would be at the top of my differential, although a few simple tests on physical exam would help a lot in narrowing things even more.
Pes anserine bursitis
Medial plica syndrome
Iliotibial band tendonitis
I'd put patellar tendonitis on there as well, but it's usually more painful to the touch and happens in kids. A Baker's cyst is another possibility, but you'd probably notice a bulge behind your knee. I think ligament or meniscal tears are unlikely but not impossible.
Bottom line is it's difficult to assess musculoskeletal complaints without a physical exam and better history. If it's bothering you see a family doc. You can even find family physicians that specialize in athletes. Many times an injury like yours can be diagnosed without "fancy" MRIs or other tests and are treated conservatively (rest and NSAIDs like ibuprofen). |

I broke/fractured a rib, possibly 2... I know nothing can be done about it and it has to heal on its own, but is there anything I can do/take to make the pain more bearable?.. Even the simple act of breathing deeply, yawning, laughing or sneezing hurts.
Has this happened to any of you?.. I'm sure I can find some info on Google, but would like to hear from you nonetheless. |
I broke one or two ribs this summer. Still haven't fully healed, i can push one of them in about 3-4 cm. Stopped hurting after a couple of weeks tho. I dont take opiates (or what the english word for it is) so i just smoked some weed/hash every day. Enhanced and dulled the pain at the same time :D |

What sort of surface are you jogging on?
Jogging on hard surfaces like asphalt and pavements can really up your knees if you're not used to do alot of running. Try finding somewhere softer to jog, ideally a track, but grass, soft gravel etc is all good.
And make sure you have really good shoes that fit you well.
Any decent sporting goods shop will help you find the right shoe for your needs. |

Thanks for the advice, reading up on this it actually makes a lot of sense. So what would you say, see a doc immediately or give it two months and only go when it doesn't get better?

Asphalt. Maybe that's where the problem comes from, I bought some cheap jogging shoes (shouldn't be total crap, but maybe not a perfect fit, and that might play a role). Will get better ones if I continue.

, I should have known that I need to expect an Aussie and a black guy breaking into my house. :nervous:
Can you at least send the token hot chick? :gsmile:
It's not rape if she's a burglar, is it? I mean, I'm just defending my property... with my penis. |

Again, it can be tough to diagnose over the internet, but if it's only a nuisance and isn't interfering with your everyday life then you can probably get away with doing what you said. I put a link below to an article that'll give you a few ideas of some stretches and other things you can do that might help. If it doesn't get better, or gets worse, then you should see a doctor.
eMedicine Link
(I'm not sure if you have to be logged in or not to see that, if so let me know and I'll just copy and paste it.) |

Not sure if you're joking or not, but "family physician" is another name for a general practitioner (GP). |

Euro-HouseMD ?
I say old chap, let yourself into the fine gentlemans apartment and see if you can find anything. Don't steal his ration book. Tally Ho! |
