Time for another episode of c0r M.D. (pg. 4)

I had the same thing after years of martial arts, not to mention bad knees in the family.

Mine was worse though. If I ran far it would begin to hurt then later that day while doing nothing, it would feel like the bone would pop out of the socket joint just below the knee and I'd immediately be forced to straighten the knee and it would make an audible "pop" as it went back in to the socket. ing painful.

Here's what it was and what solved it:

I had some cartilage damage underneath/to the kneecap. Those little broken shards were the thing causing the pain (what i think is the problem in your case). It was also making the knee joint not sit correctly due to degredation of the cartilage.

I went toSswitzerland (happened to be on holiday), where they have these ing awesome foot analysis places (there very common place there) and they made me walk over this giant sensor pad as well as looking at the way my foot moves during walking motion.

Basically that found that because my feet were incredibly flat, I was turning out my ankle during walking and this was helping to up my damaged knee further.

So they made these specially contoured insoles to go inside whatever shoes I'm wearing.

It has totally corrected my foot (I now have a correct arch etc) and all my knee problems have cleared up, but that's also because I take the following suppliments:

MSM
Glucosamine Sulphate
Calcium
L-Lysine

I now have zero knee problems, the cartilage has rebuilt and high impact sport hasn't been a issue for years.

To c0r version. Go to switzerland and get some insoles and take some pills.

Go see a doctor. Most of the medics are incompetent enough when SEEING what's going on, how the hell are some random people on a forum going to be able to guess your issue?

And to all the Americans: Health system is everywhere. Some of us just pay higher taxes for it, that's all.

I had this dip- "specialist" tell me a cyst (in the same region I had six months earlier) was actually a flesh wound when the same symptoms reappeard.

As a future doctor I can attest: Most of us have no idea what the we're doing.

I know, my reasoning was this: If I go and see five doctors I'll get five different diagnoses. When I post in the cor I also a multitude of possible reasons, which most certainly contain the five I would have gotten from the real doctors.

Ever heard about "The Wisdom of Crowds"? :toothless

As has been mentioned before, could definitely be cartilage damage. No real way to fix that long-term (just injections for quick fixes, but I doubt that jogging is that important to you).

Definitely go see a doctor. Stuff like this is really easy for them to figure out, and, even though any of them will probably just give you the usual 'ice and ibuprofen for 4-6 weeks' solution, it could be something worse, and ligaments can get a lot worse in a hurry if you don't get it right the first time. (I've tried it both ways, and both my achilles tendons, both wrists, my right knee, left shoulder, and lower back are all fine now. I didn't go to a dr. two other times, and, as a result, now have an elbow that's flat-out missing a tendon and an ankle that locks up completely if it's not getting perfect blood flow.)

Jogging is bad for your knees, instead bike, walk, or swim. If your trying to lose weight, your diet is equally important. Easier to consume less calories than it is to burn them. Running and fast walk burn the same calories @ 120 per mile. Sure you can run more miles than walk during a hour, but when you end up hurting you knees then you won't be able to exercise at all.

Not trying to lose weight.
I'm trying to work out till I'm about to puke and collapse because I love the feeling when you manage to run xx minutes or a certain distance for the first time and are at your very limit.
Biking just doesn't feel real in the same way as running does, if you know what I mean.

Got it. Bored with your life and need some sort of adrenalin rush. can see fast walking might not do the trick. Swimming will exhaust you to the point of puking although there's not a lot of speed involved.

I think I should get off my ass and go see a doctor, I want to know how many ribs are affected and the severity of the injury.
I just hope it doesn't heal out of place and one day puncture my lung. :nervous:

Bull. I paid lower taxes (in relative terms) in the UK and had free healthcare for life, with no co pay or deductions bull either etc.

And both Switzerland and France have better health care, and each one is base don a completely different system than the other (private and government).

As a future doctor, you just proved you have no idea what you're going on about.

I don't think you need to go see a doctor. I hadn't seen a doctor before last week, and he said no worries. Ribs heal on their own, the only thing to worry about is damaging the lungs.

I actually had been to the ER immediatley after the rib-thing happened, but i had some perfect shoe prints on my back and a dislocated pinky, so I actually didn't notice the broken ribs until a couple of days later :wtf: :P
