Total cluster gettig in ... Angello played the same song for the last hr. Extra stacks brought in or they weren't hanging from the ceiling. I always felt roseland had the best speakers but tn the floor was shaking from the bass it was intense. Countdown was sickkk and of course to ONE
HAPPY NEW YEARS ...
may the best times of 2010 be the worst times of 2011:gsmile: |

The place was a massacre. You couldn't get in until the ball drop. People were outside since 10:15. (Kind of expected)
There were ZERO bouncers outside - no line structure whatsoever. NYPD had to take over and basically kicked everyone out to come back at another time. So I did, because I live 4 blocks away. I feel bad for everyone else who got denied, because NYPD brought their cavalry (literally) and flat out said: "we're not letting anyone else in, go home."
Once in, wow. Steve Angello like, did not give a . LIFELESS. Record after record - zero energy.
I don't know if he had an offnight, but damn.. he didn't look like he wanted to be there.
After him came Mario Calegari, who laid down some decent tribal. After that, I think an hour or two later, Cristian Arango came on.
At that point, i blew up an air mattress and got a couple jars of K to join the zombies. I think I left around 8am, and that place was just like filled with mutants in a K hole and crazy amounts of bass. I honestly wanted to catch Calderone for just an hour, but that music was seriously making me want to commit suicide. |

We were in the cluster at 8th & 52nd before 9pm. The crowd was getting restless and pushing and shoving already then. The will call "line" was another disaster, they barely looked at my receipt, swiped my credit card and asked "how many?". Since I didn't have use for extra tickets anymore, I said 2, but got 3 tickets anyway x)
On the plus side, we got in before 10pm, there were no lines (except the ladies room of course), since others were stuck outside. The VIP areas had only a handful of people at midnight, feel sorry for those who went for the open bar.
Our bartender was an idiot and disappeared for over half an hour when we wanted to close the tab and leave.
Joachim Garraud was awesome, loved the energy, song choices, screens, everything! I'm so happy we managed to get in early, otherwise the night would have been a total disappointment.

Couldn't agree more! Having the bass louder does NOT make the music better |
