I was also impressed with sound, so much, I mentioned it to my buddy why some people were such whiners. One of the best club sound systems I've heard.

IMO guv sound is fantastic at medium-loud volumes, but when it gets extremely loud, the bass starts to rattle things at certain frequencies and the resonance drowns out the midlows. Especially noticed this during JOC's set. Sound at 20-80Hz shouldn't make it harder to hear sounds at 300Hz, but when guv's volume is very very loud, this indeed does happen (at least for me).

Maybe it's just resonating in my skull and rattling my head... o_O

I ing *love* the sound of guv's system at around 11pm when the room is half-full and the volume is only at a medium level. But somehow the quality just didn't seem as high at peak-time. It was a bit better again during Tyas's set, but during a lot of JOC's set, I felt like I couldn't hear the mid-lows very well.

Obviously the sound does not get better with more volume

They complain out of ignorance...

I've said time and time again that the DJs with the levels and some of them crank the out of it...

Ppl love to hate on Guv...

Another biased post... That's not the case at all. I normally find the sound system horrid, but did not hesitate to say that I actually found it clear and enjoyable on Sat in my review.

I loved Guv/RPM since the inception, and never stopped. We'd be screwed without it.

That post was strictly observational...

I've been hearing you all bitch about the sound for years...

The hardware hasn't changed. Just the acts who use it. But when the sound is bad, you blame it on the club...

You have no idea what I owe to that place...

Right on, and also, this may come as a surprise to some, a lot of dj's dont play live anymore. Flawless premade mixes made on a crappy pc soundcard sound horrid. I use a great soundcard and my sets come out sounding great with no sound deterioration with a final product that I can tell. It is not the lack of high end gear at Guv. And as mentioned earlier, a lot of it is in the tuning.
