| I see what you're saying, and I agree. It's not like I want to take the courses, but I don't think it's necessary to remove the requirements in place. I've had to take a lot of Engineering courses that aren't needed for my degree whatsoever, but I don't regret taking them. I find that it's not a bad thing to have a slightly broader spectrum of study when you go to college. In all reality, what the hell is wrong with a couple bull classes? It's not a true college experience unless you take a bunch of you don't wanna take :) |

Experimental Design and Quantitative Methods for Psychology
Cognitive Psychology
Personality
Brain and Behaviour
Deviance and Social Control
____________
Brain and Behaviour as well as Personality are both friggen hard. It's pretty much all biology and so much friggen memorizing (all the billions of parts of the brain, the functions, blachblahblah). I love Cognitive Psych, and the Social Control one is pretty interesting.
So much studying to do :( |

Plus, what's wrong with learning about other cultures? |
Nothing... if that's what you want to take. As a university sanctioned class though, I find it pointless. I don't like the idea of pushing that on students. If you really want to learn about other cultures, Anthropology classes are much better. |

| None, I graduated. But... I would have to say that college was a mistake. Looking back, it slowed me down in life, and if it wasn't for college I'd be a lot further along in life than I am right now because college prevented me from taking some business risks/opportunities that presented themselves when I was younger. Unfortunately I have to play catch up now. |

Nah, but I'm pretty sure there's some shady lolicon going on with stuff like The Tale of Genji. I think the emperor falls in love with a 10 year old or something. |
Gotta love Japanese culture!
Wait, your professor's daughter is legal, right? |

Actually, I changed it the next day :p
And it's not a paedo comment, I'm assuming she's legal. She isn't!? Tough luck, try befriending older professors :D |

yeah, "cultural diversity" is nothing more than a way to make more money. i went to a school that made me take a bunch of useless core classes that when combined with my major classes left little for other elective classes. there were many elective classes that would have been more useful to my career that i was unable to take (unless i shelled out more $$$) due to taking these type of classes.
college is nothing more than a money maker anyway. the power has made it so wages go up less than the cost of living and to get a job to keep up with the cost of living, you need one of these expensive pieces of toilet paper. for those that don't go to college now, they will most likely be regretting or going later on because in the future it will be about as mandatory as a high school diploma. |
