Of course; however, apples to oranges is actually a useful and reasonable comparison.

I think a better comparison would be Crosby vs GSP

Crosby ain't exactly Gretzky.

Your comparison is now Crosby vs. Patrick Cote. I think we all know who wins that one.

I can almost guarantee that if GSP was where he is now when you were in Russia, you'd know of him too..

UFC is huge over there isn't it??

after footbol, hockey is the most popular sport there and we did follow nhl as well. UFC may be popular but not as popular as ice hockey

No hes not, but I'm comparing two Canadian's that are at the top of their games in the current era of sports.

think about non european countries now...non hockey playing countries...which i think greatly outnumber hockey playing countries, take for example all of ASIA. MMA is huuuuuuuuuge over there...ask someone there if they know who wayne gretzkey is and i doubt u'll get a response. But they all know GSP.

I think it's Dana White being a bit clever. Stirring up a bit of controversy so that Canadians who don't follow MMA look up GSP's name

there is no such thing as bad publicity?

If GSP had've been peaking during Gretsky's time, I think they would've been equal in different places....

I'm pretty sure Tyson was just as big as Gretzky was in that era no??

Exactly, there is always a small chance Kos hits him just right but chances are he wont get a chance. GSPs wrestling is light year a head, if he gets into any trouble look for him to take it to the ground.

OK? Kos has great wrestling too, I would say GSP has the advantage Boxing and BJJ.
