The Whistle.
I was thinking about this today. As much as I used to LOVE hearing whistles blowing when listening to livesets from back in the day such as during Oakie's Essential mix tour, it got super ing annoying super ing fast by the early 2000's. Yet people still insisted on bringing that god damn whistle with them to clubs and blowing completely un-synced to the beat or melody all night long, just trying to fit in (or stand out).
I'm happy to say that I don't think I heard a single whistle being blown at a single event in 2010, thus leaving me to believe that that distinct sound of a proper party has officially passed. I'm sure there's many other rave novelties unseen today, or on the brink of elimination. But this one goes out to The Whistle.
You will be missed. But not really.

Wrong. I heard one in June at Lawler. I wanted to ask if I could use it and then whip it across the room. |

Can we please also stop wearing those cheap plastic Kanye glasses. The ones that look like venetian blinds that come in multiple colors.

Good riddance!!! I CAN'T STAND that. Same with the air horn at Guv, it drives me NUTS.
Any of you remember that guy who used to go ape with his whistle at Guv on the podium? Used to have a huge red wig, looked like a freaking troll doll? He wore a backpack as well...
I remember so many TAs including me trying to talk sense into the guy to stop but he was so high as a kite nobody could reach him.
Apparently someone off here in a review thread mentioned how he walked into the club w those 'dr ho' pads on his body. WTF. |

Kotsy, RE I hate it! lol I mean there is a rare exception when it's used perfectly and once during a set etc when it's tolerable but most of the time. :whip: |
