Movie Suggestions

Since we are all in the spirit of staying in due to these garbage weather conditions. Lets all suggest good movies to watch when everyone is kicking back at home. Their is only one rule that applies. Do not dare to suggest garbage movies that are being played at mainstream movie theaters. The point of this thread is to share quality movies, not weak ass hollywood movies everyone pays 10 bucks to watch.

So now that the ground rules are set, i'll start off with the first suggestion....

watch OLDBOY! just saw it last night. by far one of the best movies i have seen in a long time. A good revenge thriller with a sick twist. A man is abducted and imprisoned in a hotel room for 15 years without knowing why. he is finally released and has 5 days to figure out why he would be imprisoned for that long. This movie is in Korean, i hope most of you have the mental capacity to follow english subtitles for two hours.

This thread is brought to you by DJ Eterno. Dont get it twisted. ya dig?

HAVE U SEEN AVATAR?
Enjoy
The Man From Earth

"The plot focuses on John Oldman, a departing teacher who claims to be a Cro-Magnon (or Magdalenian caveman) who has somehow survived for over 14,000 years. The only setting is in and around Oldman's house during his farewell party, with the plot advancing through intellectual arguments between Oldman and his fellow faculty."

would make a brilliant theater play

highly recommended

the acting in ass to mouth 47 is really top notch. 2 black mambas in the butt at once with little to no reaction....if they ever cast for a breakfast at tiffany's remake...she should so get the part.
Brian Blanc
I like... well at least part of that plot :)

Mr Eterno, this is not your typical gay movie, it is a very authentic watch.

Looking forward to your review :) :)

^lmao

If you liked Oldboy, might as well watch the rest of Park Chan-wook's "Vengeance Trilogy" (only related by theme).

Cool thread. I'll want to check out your recommendations.

Watched "the experiment" about 2 months ago, on DVD. Just released this yr I think. Originally a German flick from decades ago and now completely redone, based on a true story, set in the US. Someone recently had told me I "had" to watch this movie - could be on of those 8AM chillout convos at ((())). I digress. Anyhew, this flick was full-on riveting, and my g/f and I found it to be quite disturbing (maybe we're lightweights?). Took hours to shake that feeling.

loved it, the stress and tension is amazing... it's not only a war loss, but how a regime and country disintegrated.

It is truly original and so good that you forget about the subtitles. I actually won a movie festival with it that 3 friends and I have been doing annually for about 10 yrs at a cottage. We all pick a movie, can be anything at all, and then vote on a flick (anonymously on paper, thrown in a hat) at the end of the weekend.

That's why I'm taking notes with your reviews here as I'm not really a movie buff ;)

Some very good documentaries "a-must-watch" both zeitgeist, home, and inside job.
