Anyhow, this thread only further showcases the fact that ppl in Toronto don't appreciate what they have until "others" appreciate them first. I've always loved Kenny's sound and good on him for having a great year, he deserves it.
Kenny has always been my favourite resident in Toronto. Highlights of his are his set after Mark Farina in 2006 where I heard the (then) new tech-house sound for the first time, his Turbo CD, a random set of his at Lily a few years ago, and hearing him play an all 90s, all vinyl set at a private afterparty on a beautiful summer day.
Kenny is the mother ing man, and anyone who has heard him rock it when his heart is truly in it understands what I'm talking about.
Although I do like the Art Department stuff (mainly for home listening music though), I much prefer Kenny by himself.

HERE HERE!
Kenny has always been at the top of my list also. For all the above stated parties, as well as a summers end party with sneak at koolhaus and a legendary set at fever in hamilton in 1998 or thereabouts where I afterwards booked him for my funeral. which I believe I still have him booked for.
Kenny G rocks.

yeah, Canadians for the win. Lol, Caribou is awesome I was slightly obsessed with Odessa this year actually,'coz I think it's super groovy. It's got an interesting flavour to it; the bounce and bass is alright with me. 'Sun' got a lot of play as well this year, I noticed DJs were dropping it fairly often, but Odessa was probably the most played on my list. (that and Massive Attack's new stuff. And Royksopp.) I do like Art Department's tracks, I guess it's not for everyone but I totally dig it. The beginning makes me LoL, it reminds me a lot of one of the synth sounds on the first keyboard I ever had... :} Christmas 1996 or something lol.

Motor City Drum Ensemble recently remixed Leave House, too (my personal fave from Swim).
