Come on dude.... A person as educated as you,who reads and has the gift the of gab can't have the patience for Chess?

I find this hard to beleive, but you know there is such a thing as speed Chess which you might like better since the games are like minutes long instead of playing 2 to 4 hours a game. ;)

By the way have you deceivered "Seichusen Godanzuki"

it translates to something like 5 punch hit to middle of gut or stomach

That is Makoto in Super Street Fighter 4...one of her ultras.

Actually, my brother's the one who plays SF4 more often. I joined him one day and all I remember is that the female characters were more agile and funny so I'd always pick them.

Haha, I'm borderline hyperactive in real life: I read up to 6 books concomitantly (so it doesn't really say much about my concentration skills) and many of them are actually audiobooks I listen to when I'm doing something completely unrelated, like working out at the gym or doing the washing-up :D

Hmm... I should give it a try someday.

For Lira: Modesty is something that is very admirable amongst MEN.

I leave you with this...

From the play "Mother Courage"

You saw sagacious Solomon
You know what came of him,
To him complexities seemed plain.
He cursed the hour that gave birth to him
And saw that everything was vain.
How great and wise was Solomon.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's wisdom that had brought him to this state.
How fortunate the man with none.

You saw courageous Caesar next
You know what he became.
They deified him in his life
Then had him murdered just the same.
And as they raised the fatal knife
How loud he cried: you too my son!
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's courage that had brought him to that state.
How fortunate the man with none.

You heard of honest Socrates
The man who never lied:
They weren't so grateful as you'd think
Instead the rulers fixed to have him tried
And handed him the poisoned drink.
How honest was the people's noble son.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's honesty that brought him to that state.
How fortunate the man with none.

Here you can see respectable folk
Keeping to God's own laws.
So far he hasn't taken heed.
You who sit safe and warm indoors
Help to relieve our bitter need.
How virtuously we had begun.
The world however did not wait
But soon observed what followed on.
It's fear of god that brought us to that state.
How fortunate the man with none.

In part the poem is of the paradox of virtue. How great we praise it when it suits our need. How soon we condemn it when it does not. How soon we abandon it when we fail,
The world merely observes without care or concern. We are insignificant after all.

I'm not sure about planets billions of miles away actually affect our personality! I did say it's not a 100% fact but there is a slight degree of comparison to a person personality and their sign leaving the old fundamentalies out such as Capricorns divine planent is Saturn.

But, have you not ever met a person with the same sign as you and they have similar attributes?

tell me the mechanism by which a human being is affected by the stars/planets based upon their date of birth which somehow doesn't affect other people born at different times.

Also explain why these effects occur after birth (haha!) and not from the moment of conception.

Possibly our ruling planets that are light speeds away from our own earth can definitely be a debate that doesn't directly effect us. I'm currently searching for a sort of update in Astronomy like the way peoples put their own modern day theory on religion.

Example: A lot of people thinks Adam & Eve was just a story about a man and a woman but we know they never really existed because if they did we would all be a catalyst of incest.

So maybe Astronomy has a new age version as well (that I am search for) I have met people of my sign and they are very similar to me. And Sagittarius people are for the most part very laid back/soft spoken and have a nice disconnection away from other people when they want to do their own thing.

But I have found that you have to go to the roots of Astronomy and with that being the foundation it seems to be debunked but I have seen and witnessed in my life people of similar signs act acorrdingly. But then you need to find out what time they were born , whas it a full moon, was their moon in Jupitar, are they on the cusps between two signs...etc...etc...and the list goes on and on.

I learn from this but I still feel inside me mind I can see coralations between signs.

I do agree Astronomy is far more interesting than Astrology!

you are a nutter.

I've been studying astrology long enough now in order to determine how true it is based on subjective analysis of various people that I know and my everyday experimental discourses to determine the accuracy of astrology through the analysis of noticing traits and comparing amongst various individuals, actually proves astrology to be 99.9999% correct (don't ask for facts, study it yourself). People who say it's bull are either too close-minded or have an inflated sense of ego shoved far up their ass.

The reason why people tend to say it's bull is because of some trivial reading printed in newspapers where it obviously doesn't have any relevance to their lifestyle. These are simply for fun, hence why I refer to them as trivial readings. Astrology seems very intricate, and complicated when you steep further into its details of how it all works behind our physical and mental makeup. I for example, am a Capricorn with Cancer as my ascendant. Capricorns are typically seen or described as a monotonous, boring bunch, always located on the sidelines of a social event whilst suddenly becoming the center of all sardonic humor and sarcastic wit (just like Lira, no offense :p). I however have Cancer as an ascendant (where the ascendant is our inner psych). What suprised me was that nearly everything about my personality was based on typical Cancerian attributes, the begrudging, sensitive, emotional, irritable, introverted type with a penchant for anything with a sense of darkness or melancholic (not in an emo way but yes sometimes!).

To verify this was all true, I've compared myself to other Capricorns and differed MAJORLY. Once again, every human being contains a unique astrological composition. Nobody is the same.
And btw, I have never met a Gemini in my entire life who was not dualistic or had a knack for endless conversation and debate, ever. So there.

nutter or loser? maybe both?

first day in the new job! funny story*

what the is wrong with people? there has never been a greater capacity in the history of our species for the advancement of knowledge and analysis, and these s waste their time with the most outlandish, idiotic notions.

*i got approval for the job etc and did the requisite paper work. then the actual contract for salary was provided. after tax, i am now earning an extra $5 per day, haha. so i took it to the boss and he's gonna fix that for me. which is lucky, otherwise it would've been my shortest term of employment ever! :stongue:

The only possible tiniest bit of credibility I could give to astrology is that it, in some way, relates to the age differences between children who are grouped together during their developmental stages, as a result of the school calendar. It's the same reason that a huge percentage of hockey players are born in one particular month of the year (the one that precedes the age cut-off for Canadian junior leagues; those kids have an obvious advantage toward getting on the best teams with the best coaches, which, in turn, produces more pros).

That has all to do stars and specific dates, though, so
