most musical artists/influences have used drugs in the late 1960-late1990s phase. (influential Trance came out around the rise of ecstasy use in the mid 90s to early 2000) hmmm, I wonder why everybody said Trance back then was so much better? The reason why most Trance nowadays suck is because Tiesto, PVD, Armin, Sasha, Digweed, and whoever else have probably stopped using drugs to make their music. think about it, theyre hella old now

And just as drugs =/= musical genius, musical genius =/= drugs. Andy McKee is one of the best acoustic guitar players I've ever heard, and claims to have been sober his whole life. Thomas Bangalter (if I'm remember correctly) says he prefers to listen to music without E for some reason I can't remember.

I think that was what the lyrics were.... because when you are on E, you have an enhanced hearing of sound, Trance is actually, and this is not an overexaggeration, sounds TEN TIMES better when you're on E.

Actually, the lyrics to ATB's Ecstasy, once again, you've taken out of context. They're about how she's comparing her love for someone to a drug. She's so in love that it's like her ecstasy and she can't give it up.
Also the original meaning of the word ecstasy is an overwhelming feeling of happiness or excitement.
