Beta would be advised to raise its speakers a bit higher (like Guv's) if they want to stick with the two huge stacks in front.

Been discussing that for a a week now, either that or the speakers will be flown from the ceiling.

The lasers and strobes were working well. Some of the mirrors seemed to be positioned wrong and were getting slightly missed by the laser. The hole in the corner where the laser shines through needs to be cut bigger if the rotation effect is to work properly. The LEDs could use some better programming. Particularly annoying to me is THIS, which is just downright ugly IMO:

The bass is still rumbling the laser, I did a 30 minute re-alignment before opening. Most, if not all were not hitting any bounce mirrors before. Hole and Laser will be fixed(By Sander). Laser is only running prob %20 of what its capable of. The Screens are used more for effect but I know what your saying. Its been addressed.

I thought the lighting operator had done a particularly good job; he clearly knew the music and seldom missed a cue. The strobes at beta are amazing and the crowd responds really well to them (and the lighting in general).

Thanks :) Believe it or not, I've only been into house and EDM since I first went to Guv's 13th Anniversary. We'll be upgrading the program in the coming months so it should look even better.

Glad to know that progress is still being made despite your lack of funds.

Regarding laser and mirrors; I honestly have trouble fathoming how the engineering can work for those in the first place; it seems to be like the tolerances would have to be incredibly low because the error grows exponentially after every bounce. The designers of the board game "Khet" had this problem.

Great to hear from you though, keep up the good work!

If I ever see that I will burn Beta to the ground

Avicii was vocal breakdown after breakdown...yawn. The people there seemed to love it though. I haven't see a crowd have that much fun in ages.

Beta is a really awesome club! I hope it sticks around. The sound isn't great, but I'm sure they'll fix that over time. Sounded like there were no mids and all of the speakers were at the front of the room.

Funnily enough, Beta's bar had run out of BOTTLED WATER by the end of the night, which is slightly sad because selling $4 water is like printing money for them.

...

I wonder if people are just more alert overall when they're not under the influence of alcohol.

...

It's a shame that Beta spent the money to hire him before they had their liquor license, as the first hour of his set was prime liquor-selling tunage.

...

I don't care too much about the liquor license because I don't drink when I go clubbing, but clearly their current business is unsustainable without one. I'd hate to see them go under because of not getting their license, and I wish there was more we could do to help.

Sorry to bring back such an old thread, but I almost feel like at the time you wrote this post, you were either purposely overlooking or completely oblivious and unaware to the fact that AT LEAST 75% of the BETA crowd is rolling on MDMA. That's the reason they sell out on their water, it's why people show up on the crappier nights even though there's no alcohol, and it's why they haven't gone out of business. Stimulants are causing the dehydration, not the high energy dancing, lol.

I just found it funny how you said the crowd is more alert without alcohol and you couldn't think of the most logical reason why this actually happens lol

Wait... are you suggesting that there are some people in a nightclub using illegal drugs? How stupid do you think we are? Amphetamines in a nice wholesome environment like a night club... I call Shenanigans!
