Its not really a war movie, but Charlie Wilson's War was interesting (its about the Texas rep who got all the funding for the insurgents in Afghanistan during the 1980s, he also liked coke and busty women). |
Okay, but this movie has julia roberts in it. Julia R, Angelina Jolie, Harrison Ford, Sarah Jessica Parker and Aston Kutcher are on my 'no see' list. |

While I got its intention, the pacing and way it flashed around was annoying, especially for how long it was.
I did only see it once though and I can barely remember it. |

Harrison Ford? Really? :wtf:
I hate Julia Roberts too, but she was bearable in this cause she played an annoying disgusting right wing christian from Texas. |

damn i'm uneducated, i only know Apocalypse Now. thanks for all this.
you guys should watch Ivan's Childhood:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0056111/
its a very slow movie though, not for the action seekers. somewhat comparable to the style of Roman Polanski in the 60s.

If you are able to forgive the accents (or lack thereof), then I highly recommend The Beast (1988). |
Yeah, there is a lot you have to forgive to like this movie, but it's one of my favourites. |

it's not a full fledged war movie like glory, but it does take place during the civil war with involvement of native tribe conflicts with American cavalry.
A really good movie none the less; but if your looking for all out battle scenes, then this probably won't cater to your interests.
I would definitely choose last of the mohicans over this though. |
