I've also watched Kapo (on WWII), its an interesting movie to say the least, done by the same director of battle of algiers.

It depicts a savage human nature of prisoners in concentration camps. very controversial to say the least, but an interesting spin none the less.

Yeah its true, but the movie is great for dramatics and action sequences. You can't find very many movies out there that depict native involvment in western war issues. Usually their role is negligent or very downplayed. So this is a decent, albeit sometimes over dramatized, attempt to portray its significance.

No, I quite agree. I liked the movie a lot.

It's just not a good movie if you're intending to sample it, since you'll get a whole load of Michael Mann's dick.

i've seen this one. koreans are really into their melodrama :p. can't remember the battle scenes, but i'll watch it again.
