What type of wine do you like? Do you know? |
|
|
Renzo |
Not really. I have friends who are aficionados so I'm tasting good wine all the time, but I'm more of a beer guy.
I'll make it a point to start paying attention to names and types. |

White or red?
To start off, names don't matter as much as type (pinot, merlot, riesling, etc.) and origin (country/state, area). |

red for me.
liberty school cabernet sauvingnons are awesome, and for the price are probably one of the better wines you can drink often due to affordable price. Just stay away from 2004's...the reason they are cheaper is because it was a bad year. Nothing like getting a skunk bottle to ruin your day.
the gf drinks white...mostly voga pinot grigio. For the price it is very good.
both these wines are very easy to find too. |

i'll give it a look for sure. The price is certainly right. |

I'm a big fan of the German wheat beers, and I've accumulated quite a collection of the free ones that you get with certain deals here and there. They're actually quite good quality (especially considering the price :p)
Get some like these:

(Yes, I'm aware they're dirty, they're ones I haven't used in a while :p) |

Finally, you get here!
I'm just more lost now. Which do you prefer and why? By my count, there are three types there (according to Jay's link).
Also, WANT:

I don't think I can justify even a pair of those, though. :( |

It kinda depends on the beer. For weissebier, I prefer either #2 or #3 (numbers starting from the left -> right), because it allows for lots of head (lol). I'm drinking a beer called Aventinus (made by Schneider-Weisse) at the moment, so I have it in #4, which is what they recommend. It doesn't make a huge head, but being a darker beer, it's nice to have the air get to it a bit, on the top.
#3 is probably the most usable glass, based on what I drink.
I have a tall 500ml stein though, which I use all the time. All those glasses are 500ml volume though. Don't go for less volume. |

That's what I've got. I like the resulting head, though they do flatten the taste, since it's just wide open.
Maybe I should just get a few more and some plain old pints...? |
