Let's talk about stemware

I broke the last of the really nice wine glasses I had around and decided it's time for a revamp. I'm looking for:

-12-24 wine glasses. At least 8 Bordeaux-specific, the rest more 'all-purpose' ones. The other ones will almost never be used for anything other than pinot or cabs.
-assorted beer...whatever. I have a couple tall pilsner glasses that I like, but tell me what I should have, beer geeks. I've always just used those or nothing.

Here's the one I've been leaning toward for the bordeauxs, to give you an idea:

Classic, simple, no-frills. I hate ornate and colors. I want some nice stuff, but the cheaper, the better, since the majority of my budget will already be going toward a couple awesome Bordeaux glasses, and most of these will be used sparingly.

Suggestions?

i'm not particularly knowledgeable about this - but I believe riedel products are sort of the industry standard for quality

I'm loving some thick plastic ones that look just like glass...
I always break mine too.

shaw likes French wine, the Germans like David Hasselhoff.

Schott Zwiesel is great stuff, but it isn't always cheap.

As far as pint glasses i either steal them from bars, or use the free ones that seem to always come with cases of beer around xmas time.

Stemless.

nein.

Yes. Shaw is gonna break them, anyway.

Keggers get crazy.

stemless works fine...i don't know though...

I find if you set a nice table with good food, and nice china, stemless kind of looks a little cheap. The functionality is the same though.

Their mid-range stuff is about the same as the riedels I mentioned, but their lower-end is quite a bit less. I may check those out. Thanks.

I own precisely 2 beer-specific glasses, so I don't even know what those are (don't shoot me). What's the most common type of glass? Pics?

Also, I'm just not a big fan of stemless. I like the more traditional look, and I always feel like I'm going to spill stemless glasses (especially the slanted ones).
Renzo
Then be clear about what you want before I give advice.
