I know it was at vain. My point is, that club has one entrance, and usually the people working the door are incompetent. Combine that with it being the biggest week for EDM in detroit all year and it's going to be a mess.
I havent been to bleu since it reopened but whenever a semi large event happens there it's always a show getting in.
Deadmau5 a couple years back for instance.
All i'm saying is that people need to exercise good judgment if they go there, i.e. Buy presales and show up early. |

Honestly, not to worried, and maybe a bit happy! Means MAYBE (probably not) I will get to bed at a reasonable time so I can get to the festival earlier the next day, perhaps rested this time and I can enjoy more of the acts, the day, and roam around more. |

So where is everyone staying?
I'm a the Doubletree, checking in Saturday and checking out Tuesday for $199 a night. Doubt anyone else could get this, DoubleTree are being khunts and it involved me and the childish possibly uneducated GM of the Detroit location getting into a yelling match over email to get this! (And still not happy!)
Looks like they don't want DEMF crowd there or something... :nervous:
No 1,2,3 night bookings, no single nights, only way you can book is Friday to Monday 4 night stay @ $189/night.
Too late to find anything else that's reasonable :(
I wonder if they will let you book the 4nights but cancel the Friday night closer to the date without penalty of losing your money, losing the entire reservation, or being bumped up to their "approved" rate for the weekend which is apparently $229 a night. Which, according to them doesn't matter, because they don't have rooms or vacancy that weekend  :whip: |

| That hotel has always been bull. During that weekend they treat you like dirt. Last year they literally stopped my friends every time they tried to go up to copy down their identification. Then security came up twice because we were being "too loud and rowdy". Too bad it was only 2 of us, and one was in the shower while the other was sleeping. |

We got upgraded from Courtyard to the Ren Cen!!! :eyes:
Looks like some one ed up big time LOL
One thing that sucks is Sarah and I won't be coming down until Sunday because my cousin's wedding is on Saturday...so looks like I'm missing 2 potential wicked after parties :( Gotta pace myself so I'm not too hungover for the drive lol. At least I can party hardy all day and night Sunday and waltz into Old Miami feeling like a million bucks! |

The Doubletree is a hole and the staff is horribly rude. I was in a friend's room last year hanging out, they came up to accuse us of smoking weed (which we weren't) and almost kicked them out of the hotel until my friend slipped the guy a $50.
Last year I stayed @ the MGM Grand with the Detek promo code and it's beautiful. The pool is awesome there, the restaurants are great and the room service menu is really good and reasonable, they have everything you'll need. This year I'm staying @ the Courtyard just cos it's closer :) |

Really surprised and sorry to hear this. I was never stopped once going in and out of the Doubletree last year. I had different people staying with me each night and I didn't hear of them encountering any problems either. I hope that doesn't change this year because I just booked Friday -> Tuesday again.
Also, I read the comments a couple pages back about Fatboy Slim. They seem to be mostly positive on this board, but the booking is getting slammed on other sites. People are upset, I guess, about his sound not fitting with the festival. I, for one, am extremely excited to get the opportunity to see him. For one, I think Paxahau has been slowly expanding the variety at the festival anyway. Regardless, I could care less as Cook is one of those legends that I've always wanted to see. I had a few opportunities to travel and catch him back in the day, but plans just never worked out. I kind of chalked his name up on the "likely will never see" board, and now come to find out he will close out the festival. Needless to say, I'm very happy and am curious as to how the rest of the lineup will shape up. In any case, the festival will be enjoyable and the after parties are sure to rock again this year.
