Is this a step in the right direction?

In the last month or so my mixes have been called absolutely awful, I've been told my production set-up is completely ty, my hardware more or less unusable..

I went ahead and got an extra gig of RAM, mixed at a much lower volume than I'm used to, used Sends a lot more, used more stereo separation between tracks and overall put a lot more effort into the production of this remix than I'm used to. Hell, I even put thought towards the percussion since nobody seems to like what I do with it.

Just wondering if anyone has some further criticism. I'm kind of tired of being the poster-boy around here for bad production and I'd like to see if all the advice I've gotten from you guys is leading to anything good.

theres some white noise almost through the whole song which seems anoying to me atleast. and the track is a bit empty. i cant say anything about production quality as im on laptop speakers atm.

Some of your older tracks had pretty harsh highs, but the high end in this one sounds better to me.

I'll agree that the white noise is a little annoying, but overall i'd say this is a definate step in the right direction.

same here, the hats sound a bit annoying but you can get used to this, there is a sidechained white noise that is soooo annoying, a bit muddy after the first minute. Percussion is fine

To be honest man. Make music and dont worry about the rest. Feedback from forums is pretty much useless. Most of the time people just tell you how they want it to sound. And you have guys telling you your tune sounds empty listening on laptop speakers. Its all subjective. You have like 2-3 people before me who said that the whitenoise/bass sound was annoying. I personally think that its really cool. It's completely useless and only leads to killing your creativity. A bit of feedback lol : I think the mix is allright maybe you could make the stereo image better tho, it sounds like everything is in the middle. I liked the music.

Agreed with the first point, not the second. There are people here who know what they're doing more than I do and I'd be an idiot to ignore some of the advice I've gotten lately. this track is a direct result of that advice, just seeing if it's actually helping.

I mean, , this is what I was making about a year and a half ago, and I thought this sounded great:

I don't really give a what anyone says about my songwriting or other purely creative choices but as far as production is considered, I'll take any help I can get.

the only thing annoying me is that high s/c white noise in the background. i think you're going in the right direction, just get rid of that noise!

I had creativity in mind, production i'm all for it.

Sounds like your mid bass has some white noise? Tone that down a bit. Sounds really clean, I would prefer the percussion to be more separated but that my opinion.

Production sounds pretty clean to me and way better than some of those uber layered more cluttered track a little while back. Percs nice n clear too.

You care a lot about what people think, and in my book that striving traite of yours will ensure your'e always getting better.

The perc's at the start remind me of an old kuffdam and plant tune (summer dream I think)..

Can't really add anything to what has already been said, it's sounding good!
