if its a sticky to the first page then I think its a great idea....if not then it will fade away in the the black hole of once good thread ideas
jad
Does someone want to get on this? Nick? If not.. I'll start it up.. even though I don't produce (still think it's a great idea).

.
.

Recap.. Judging from the general consensus, this is what we have so far:
1. Any complete track is allowed ot be posted. It doesn't have to be signed.
2. No unfinished tracks.
3. No beatport exclusivity.
4. No third person bios lol.
5. Make the thread a sticky.

Questions:
1. Will this thread only be for TOTAs?
2. Can people post friends' productions?
3. Should we allow incomplete tracks / previews to be posted?
4. Let's agree on a number of links someone can post at once (in order to keep the thread organised).

Thoughts?

I'll start the thread this evening! :)

To address the above points, here are my thoughts:

1. Only TAs can post, preferably TOTAs (so folks can get to know their friends' productions a little better) but all members are welcome.
2. Only completed/full tracks or previews (at least 3 minutes in length) of full tracks can be posted. *No posting of incomplete/unfinished works-in-progress*.
3. Let's limit the postings per user to three per week - sound fair?
4. I'm inclined to side against the posting of non-TA friends' productions: I'd hate for the thread to turn into a spam free-for-all with people constantly urging others to buy their friends' new releases. I'd like to keep the thread focused on our community! Having said that, I don't see anything wrong with posting upcoming releases by artists who are well known in our community, e.g. our locals. Hmmm...Maybe we need more input here.

Furthermore:
1. Tracks MUST be posted via EMBEDDED STREAMING LINKS -- e.g. Soundcloud, Youtube, etc -- that are directly playable from within the thread.
2. Tracks MUST be posted with at least 192kbps MP3 quality (this is the SC standard, right?)
3. Download links for finished BOOTLEGS (unofficial remixes) must be posted with 320kbps MP3 quality.
4. Only EDM tracks may be posted.
5. Let's try to keep the BS to a minimum. All CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is welcome. But comments like "this sucks" without any explanation of the remark are unhelpful so please don't post them :)

Agreed!

My suggestion is aimed more at the fact that sometimes releases get bunched up together, e.g. an artist may get 2 or 3 masters back within a few days of each other even if they're on different labels.

Sounds good to me.
