he quit trance for money, doesn't mean he doesn't like trance.

i'm pretty damn sure he doesn't play katy perry in his after party.

i think Tiesto wanted to stay current and hip, I guess hes gonna have to keep changing his sound now cos seems like sounds come and out of fashion pretty quick.

not a huge fan of avb but at least hes stuck with trance (well his version of it)
drEamer
AVB plsy pop music
DaveT
you mean ATB?
drEamer
ATB does too.....LOL

I guess this track has been around awhile, i had it in my library since October, last year...

His biggest downfall the last few years was in the vocalists he used. A lot of the music was 6/10, vocalists .015/10

But again, he hasn't really changed much... People are freaking out cuz he "left trance" but he never made straight up "trance"!!!!!!!

identical "electro" track or whatever he calls his "new" style..

But please don't tell me that this is trance:

no, his biggest down fall was saying he deleted trance from his sets. Don't get me wrong, he had some very good tracks, but nothing current compares to stuff from Mat zo, Soundprank, Will Atkinson, Activa, or any of these starter artists who have held down the genre. When he said this i said no sweat, just gets the cheese outta the way so someone can shine. Tiesto will always be tiesto, but trance will continue with or without him.

Yes there are similarities, in particularly due to the fact that remix is fairly new, and was not at all what the original release mixes sounded like, or the followup remix album for Just Be. It was probably a buried mix Arny stuck on the compilation since the fallout of the breakup was going on. Surprise, surprise that the mix got stuck on something I'm sure Tijs had some input on while falling out with the label he helped form.

I really don't know what you typify as straight up "trance," but the word is definitely associated with the stylistic traits of his music in the 1990's and early 2000's. Maybe you didn't find it trance. Tijs always felt that he produced house. He's said it in numerous interviews, but his stylistic traits have heavily changed over the last 5 years, and his fan base felt alienated for it.

90% of his recent productions are garbage to me, but I think that plight isn't shared by him alone. A lot of the big names from the last decade have fallen from musical graces in my opinion. That's probably why I don't follow them too much anymore.

Young Lions isn't too bad, but that intro makes me barf. I was fine once it got to the break, but god, its ugly up front.

My opinion, he's making the culture mainstream. People who weren't fans before are now and it's because of him (especially in the States). How can you fault a dude for chasing the dream and making more money because of it? He accomplished what he could in the underground, now he's stepping up and taking it mainstream.

He's not making the culture mainstream. That would be Guetta, Afrojack, Chuckie, Deadmau5, Laiback Luke and to some point Swedish House Mafia. Tiesto def has bigger following than most, if not all DJ's in the world, but his music is nowhere near as mainstream as Guetta. He's tried, but hasn't gotten the popularity on the mainstream the others have. I've still yet to hear Tiesto on Maintream radio here in LA.

This is the worst thread I've ever seen. Whoever it is posting with the Tiesto avatar: That fact alone makes your contributions to this thread completely biased and therefore irrelevant. Also you're gay.

Oh yeah, that song sucks too.

The track is fine, but it's not memorable to me.
