Nah, it's just the right coach.
The growth of the Tedenby and Josefson line in the offseason will be that extra offensive weapon; they're THAT good. Extending Parise's contract for the next decade, and giving him the captaincy will be the second step in retooling.
All we need is the right coach, as you can see in the Maclean debacle.. That's the critical move Lou needs to make and we'll all be on the edge of our seats until he does it. |

During the 16 years of Devils dominance, you couldn't find one person who wanted to chat about hockey, now everyone's talking Rangers hockey (until round one's over). I don't care if the Devils are 70-80% capacity crowd for the past 2 decades, everyone can name the starting lineup and tell you the players' salary cap hits, if you asked them.. They're not taking their investment clients out for a drink and a free game.

What are you talking about? I have had plenty of Ranger conversations EVERY year, both on this forum and otherewise. (and with you! LOL!) ;) :)
I just dont think you were paying attention: maybe it wasnt a topic you were interested in ;)
Besides, its not like this is the first time the Rangers have made it to the first round, so I dont see what would even be different here?? Why would we be suddenly excited about a first round playoff? We have been in the first round the last, what.....5 of 6 years or so? :conf: Our typical season: Play decent hockey, make playoffs, lose first round.....maybe make it to second if we are lucky. Whats different? nada.
Edit: besides, I asked you months ago to go to the Rangers/Devils game this weekend but you had something come up....I think you said it was some big party in Holland or somethin ;) :stongue: :stongue: |

blah, true. but i'd like to think differently, perhaps this yr (i always say this) we'll get to the finals at least- i just hope to get callah back in the rink on time...
regardless, i've enjoyed watching this new team of fresh young guys putting their every effort into the plays they make and they deserve to get as far as possible, even win it all. im pretty optimistic so lets see how it all unfolds this year...

Oh it's all good, no bitterness here. One season missing the playoffs is not making me lose sleep at night. I don't know how you guys do it, year after year. Even this year, you just squeaked right in..
All the analysts have obviously pointed us out as a force to be reckoned with, so I'm not worried about next season! |
