This was my first visit to D36. Will not be going back. Club reminds me a lot of Pacha. Why is the booth so high? What were they thinking? Sound system is too overpowering. We had a table and we might as well have been in a closet, it would have been better. Way too much traffic and out bottles kept getting knocked over.

I thought Sleepy & Boo were horrible openers for Digweed. So incredibly inappropriate and disrespectful to Digweed...they banged it out way too hard, played peak time right before he got on. No wonder John likes to bring his own openers like Fortier and Kazell.....they know how to warm up the crowd properly John actually looked pissed, and STOPPED the music before he got on. Unreal.

am i the only one that thought the sound system was good? do my earplugs have anything to do with this?

It's really just overpowered with bass; not the good kind. It rattles the structure and turns the sound into mud.
Electric Pickel in Miami this past March wast he loudest system I've heard, but it was super crisp. The kick drums felt like they were smacking you in the face. With ear plugs I'm sure it would have been amazing. It did hurt my ears though, but at least it sounded good while doing it. The D36 system just seems to mumble really loudly. I'd be more forgiving if they didn't mention the "Gary Stewart Audio System" in every ing copy for every party ever like it's the best thing ever.

I'm glad that John's management completely disagrees with you and gave us a big thumbs up.

phew.

I also don't think John looked "pissed". He gave us one of his new Bedrock T-shirts that we've proudly been wearing ever since.

Anyhow thanks to everyone who had some nice words to say about our set. We were very honored to play with John again and it was a very special night for everyone involved.

I dunno what people are talking about. The system booms and is crystal clear.

As for sleepy & boo not being good openers. Dumbest thing I've read all day.

The sound is good, at least where we were (right side, near exit to smoke and near back by the bar. It's too muffled on the 2nd floor, near that back bar.

S&B played one of the better sets I've heard from them (which a few other friends of mine commented on as well. John frequently stops the music when he starts, so I don't know why that surprised anyone.

Never been there when it's been that hot and crowded.

Digweed played a great set, imo. Wish he'd have played longer, as there were a lot of people still there at 6 when he finished.

Relax, homie, its just an opinion. Everyone else loved S&B so I dont think one opinion will really hurt their feelings too much. No use calling anyone dumb over it....

also, I was where GHB was standing the sound was fine to me :conf:

yeah middle of the floor was GREAT during the times where i found pockets of space. even when sitting on the speakers for a while the sound wasn't distorted in any way.

digweed residency please. and sasha too. both have been fantastic lately.
