Loans are loans, which the children will have to repay. I know that before the GFC the idea of actually repaying loans was a bit foreign to many Americans, but thats how the real world works. These parents have saddled their children with unnecessary debt because of their religious beliefs.
The sad thing is this group have supposedly $120 million. Had they actually done something worthwhile with those funds they could have made a difference and helped many people around the world who actually need help and gone to heaven for their good deeds, but rather they have wasted the money in trying to tell people (who by and large didn't care) about some fanciful apocalypse.

I can't believe people actually believed in this enough to spend their money. It saddens me that because they wasted that money society is going to have to take care of them, when both the money they wasted on advertising and the money society will need to give them could have gone to actually helping people in deed.
If God exists, and unless he/she/it is a complete , I'm pretty sure he/she/it would prefer money was spent making people's lives better then advertising something no one is going to listen to.

This is the bit I don't get. If I truly believed the world was going to end and had a company like Family Radio, instead of squandering money like that, I'd try to raise an absurd amount of money (by selling all the goods and asking for donations) and give it to the poor as soon as possible so they could endure the end of times a little better.
That's, I believe, what a true Christian would do.
