The house room DJs are great (for the most part) but the order sucks. DJ Vibe and D-Formation should follow each other.
I'll be investing my $100 on a trip to the south (better investment) ;) |

The hint that the other dj was from portugal was a dead give away for dj vibe. What other big house DJ is from Portugal?
I agree with Spin... best fkn lineup I've seen in town for awhile. A+ |
Im from Portugal, waddddup.
$75 is a ing bargain considering I spent $56.08 on Carl Cox and he almost put me to sleep.
B&B = SOLD! Considering Hollow Earth is my home boys and the house room is the bomb. I've never seen Mark Anthony but I'm down for some cheese vocal house.. Markus and Spin are you gays going? TA meet yeah? |

What are the lines at B&B like? Especially later on? |
Last year I got there at 2:30-3, and didn't have to wait at all. |

| Mark Anthony plays a lot more than just vocal house. Infact I wouldnt even describe him as a vocal house DJ. He plays thick chunky house beats w a slight mixture of prog n tech house. He's very, very good. It isn't for nothing that he plays every year. :P |

$75 for almost twice as many hours, tons of good, feet-moving djs, room to move, room to breathe and stay cool and with food and booze available!
tickets were at $75 for quite sometime and with a much bigger window to buy them than BeB's presale. However, they may have went up to $90 now.
I've never waited longer than 30 mins for any of the events I've gone to in the past. I'm def going, got my ticket six weeks ago :p
Going to attempt 10PM - closing with one of the female lurkers :p ;) |

The only reason Mark Anthony still plays at the Black & Blue is that he's good friends with the core group that formed the BBCM and that he was at the original one. They kept the trend going by inviting him every year and he was always the closer. He must have gotten tired of playing to an half empty room so I could bet that the year or 2 that he didn't play was due to him putting his foot down and wanting to be in a more peak hour slot. Because when he did return he was on earlier time slots. Therefore, when someone stated that the order was based on politics, they probably meant this in an ambiguous sort of way ;)
You can expect M.A.'s set being comprised of a miss-mash of Beatport's top ten (from October) in different categories therefore appealing to everyone. Don't get me wrong he has been around for a long time and has good technique (I think someone in this thread even referred to him as Montreal's D.T.) however I find his sets lack creativity or originality... again my own personal opinion. |

So who would you choose as the one local to include on this bill?
I assume it would be someone who is recognizable throughout all parts of Montreal, appeals to both veterans and new folks at B&B, fits the current lineup, has a proven track record working seamlessly with headliners over the years, etc, and has enough in his repretoire to play circuit house, prog, tech house, etc. I like this choice for all the above.
He has his own night at Stereo, a residency at Red Lite and has been a contributor to the music for over 20 years now. ANd in terms of track selection, this is a massive we're talking about not a dozen edm nerds on ta :p |
