| OD deaths at raves and festivals have been going on for decades - the tragedy, and difference nowadays, are promoters of these large events make a bundle and have the resources to minimize incidences. Sounds like they will learn from any mistakes and move forward (or to a different city lol). |

you know...i was talking to an officer in miami (and i have actually had the same convo with other emts, ect in the past)
its more the ALCOHOL that hurts/kills (and in this instance as with many others...the heat! guys it was over 100!)
the pills are fine but then people chug whiskey with it like a tard and its also 100 degrees and also theyre jumping around...and ALSO they havent eaten in days....
do the math!
i appologize to those who have passed and arent idiots...but the idiots are really ruining it for everyone |

| 1 out of 10,000 .... drugs are not to blame here, i'm sorry for the guys friends and family but this kid's ignorance is what did him in...you wanna do drugs then you gotta know your limits and know how to take care of yourself, whatever flavor you choose to do you gotta do your research and pay attention...take breaks, stay hydrated, and use in moderation and you will have no problems... this puts a bad name out there for the whole EDM scene |

| Could have been 1 pill mixed with some crazy or not even MDMA. That is definitely ignorant. Too bad there are more deaths in this world due to ALCOHOL than drugs. |

oh really? so, if some 19 years old dumbass dies at electric zoo and lets just say that the city doesn't want the event to happen anymore, are you still gonna say the samething when 90% of the attendance is bitching at the kid? |

My comment has nothing to do with shutting an event down. I just find your original comment extremely callous considering an an enormous amount of people that you know and supposedly care about, have done a little dipping in drugs and can be very excessive drinkers, yet you make comments about not giving a if someone dies.
This doesnt make any sense, because 1) you know you would care if it was one of your friends who died and 2) a zillion times more people die from alcohol, an activity that YOU partake in, and alcohol is pretty damn unpredictable with its effects as well.
In both cases, drugs or alcohol, people are responsible for themselves and others (ie no driving, everything in moderation, etc...) and need to make sure they do their research (which you clearly havent, because people dont generally die from MDMA overdose/toxicity, they die because they are unaware of the effect of the extremes of water consumption: ie dehydration or over-hydration.)
I am NOT making a statement to encourage drug use or to shut down big events, as clearly people need to keep their in check for the sake of themselves, the event, and the people around them. I am not denying that in any way shape or form, so dont go there.
I am saying that no one likes the guy who cant handle his ........ but we also dont like the guy who is an insensitive hypocrite about the guy who DOES die, because that guy who died is still a person with a mother, friends, career, who was probably just trying to have a good time, just like the night YOUR friends took drugs or YOU accidentally drank too much alcohol. Everyone needs to be responsible, but lets be real, have you had a 100% success rate of NEVER going overboard while drinking alcohol? LMAO! puh-lease.
IMO, alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs on the planet because its LEGAL and people are not careful with it....
Proof: in a study from the DEA, "only" 6 ppl died from MDMA toxicity (meaning, taking too much) and 9 deaths when a drug was mixed with MDMA. This is in comparison to more more than 75,000 deaths from Alcohol in the USA ALONE per year.
The point is, everyone needs to do things in moderation, so as to not ruin lives, events, etc.....but enough with the hypocritical, insensitive and uneducated comments! Technically, just because its legal doesnt make it better!!
  :haha: |

| Oh, and I also think these s running the events need to be a lot more hardcore about making sure the little kiddies dont get in, because, when it comes to drugs OR alcohol, its always those one's who arent capable of knowing when enough is enough  I cant tell you how many 13 year olds I saw falling all over themselves drunk as fuk at Electric Zoo......at like 4pm. :disbelief  |

Shocker. Kids + drugs = bad news.
Insomniac is ed. They are going to either really limit the age for admission to adults or bring in extra bodies to search and confiscate drugs from teh kiddies. Or both, cos if this keeps happening, everyone is going to end up running them out of towns just like LA did and they'll die a horrible death profesionally. |

I personally think they should do this anyways. The only people who want 15 year olds at a rave are the 15 year olds....(even though this guy was confirmed to be 19 afterall, its still not a great place for younger kids, IMO). |
