Yeah, I know, thats why i was thinking about him and Rise not being a trance-room, but I figured Patrick would be the go-to-Boston guy in terms of organizing something :conf: ;)

Um, sooo everytime I have been to Boston trance-nights, there were half empty clubs. Actually, more than half empty. Even Markus Schulz has a room full of about 50 people LOLOL. I would say start small in a small room like RISE (although I have only seen trance played there once, so I have no idea what type of room it really is!) See if you can make money, and grow.

Also, Ask Patrick. He knows Boston-oriented questions far more than most of us do. WTF is his screen name again? :conf:

when did you see markus in boston??!?!?!?

actually i have yet tobe to a half emtpy trance night in boston

no no i lie- kyau and albert on a tuesday night hahahaha but it still was pretty packed and PERFECTION

boston has potentential. boston has a good past too tht i think people forget about.

Im seriously getting a kick out of the people who have never been to boston, probabl have no intentions on ever GOING to boston but immediateily get on here and talk to anyone who is in or wants to be in boston and enjoys trance

silly comments? could have a better title? new member?

yeah. whatever.

But there are so many uneducated and FALSE boston statements on here im seriously laughing and getting a bit fustrated.

Yes, boston is not as big as NYC. Yes, boston has some speed bummps. Yes Boston has a number of failed nights on their roster. Yes boston lacks promoters and moey

NONE of this is lost in NYC though. NYC has the same issues NOW as well as when they were trying to get going.

NYC is BIGGER people....end of story! Not to mention Boston is younger....

Boston has potential. Boston DOES bring big names as well as locals, ect. Boston has had MANY great shows.

Ferry Armin Kyau and Albert Ronski Speed PvD Tiesto Randy Kristina ....im not going to list them all thats pointless.

Let people get excited and have huge hopes and xpectations....jesus

PS Rise has had A LOT of trance nights. They are trance and house and a little of everything else

Wait, are you on the right forum? This is the talk capitol of the world lol why so serious :clown:

Hmmmm It was about 3-4 years ago or so at the place next to Fenway (avalon??) Im not going to lie, I went with Wai and had the best time EVER, even there there was literlaly like 50 people there. Met awesome people and had the best time!! I used to go to the same place for Tiesto, and it was decently full, but never packed, but that was a WHILE ago, like 2003-2007ish.

Also, I am not really familiar with Rise, as I have only been twice. Once was for a trance night and once it was not. Those are my experiences in Boston: tons of random fun, but never expecting much in terms of a massive crowd or Big-room nights.

I am all for ANY city getting a decent scene, though, so more power to anyone trying to start something up! Just do it right, so you dont turn OFF the newcomers!

hahahah i know....and im usually just as guilty.

for some reason i get so protective of boston HAHAHAHAHHAHAH

i think its because it has so much potential and its really not THAT far id love for NYC-ers to give it a chance and start travelling to boston too! (like we do DC!)

i mean think about it!

For the psychos like me hahahaha

Markus in NYC, then down to DC...then up to Boston

WHam Bam three days in a row not just two for these events!

FANINGTASTIC!

not to mention that will pull in other areas like ohio and buffalo. I feel like Boston is the missing link that could really help pull in so much more talent too

Girl, it was SO much fun. You know how you walk into a place and just think "um wowww this is gonna be WACK!!!" but then just make your own fun and it turns into an epic night? Yup, that was a couple of Boston nights (Markus and one Rise night when we met the coolest Scottish people on earth!!) LOL!! Total potential based on the people ALONE :D :D

boston people can be great!!! very laid back and so much fun and the tourists there arent as stuck up either!

the cool thing about boston, unlike nyc- is when you go to a trance show. EVERYONE there is truly there bc they love the music.

bc its not like NYC where people just want to go out so theyre like "oh lets try this club called pacha i bet we can get some tail"

no. in boston people arent looking for a club (and if they are there are a a few bigger well known ones and those are where the ass**** will go)...so if they are at above and beyond...its because they LOVE above and beyond and they are so happy to finally be able to see them!

its great!

the clubs are smaller too and the crowds are smaller too- but its like a perfect proportion normally. back in 2007 2008 there were a few shows where i was like- YES im parting basically alone with ferry corsten!! hahaha

but people have caught wind of it all and its not really like that anymore- from what im told/have seen

It would be great if you could expand on this.

I am not an experienced club promoter, this is totally grass roots. I do know some places that I can definitely book though. So this is going to happen, even if it's at a dive bar with no subs. The goal is to get trance through loudspeakers at regular intervals. The number of interested people will dictate how good of a venue we can get. The people I'm working with have connections to nice clubs if interest is high.

Seriously, if anyone wants to pontificate, I'm all ears. It's true that RISE brings a lot of trance people through, but it's hard to say that there's ever been a trance "scene" here-- that I was aware of. so it's difficult for me to understand being jaded about the trance scene. lol.
