So i got results back from a test i took about a lump i found in my neck.

I know this is definitely not the spot to be asking for help with like this, but while i wait for my to be transferred to a real doctor rather then the peice of one i have been dealing with i thought id see if someone could translate this for me.

The thyroid gland is diffusely homogeneous. The right lobe measures 5.1 x 1.3 x 1.5 cm abd the left lobe 4.6x1.2x1.6cm. The thyroid isthmus measures 0.3cm. There aee no focal thyroid nodules.

Corresponding to the left neck lump is a hypoechoic mass lession. This shows posterior through transmission and may represent a cystic lesions with internal echoes. There is an appearance of nodules within the wall of these lesion. There is no internal vascularity.

There was no lymphadenopathy within the neck.

OPINION: Corresponding to the palpable abnormality within the left neck is a hypoechoic lesion which may represent a complicated cystic mass. This shows nodular densities on the wall. Other consideration is for a solid mass lesion. Suggest correlation with a neck CT.

Lesion = abnormal tissue. Nodules are a hard abnormal structure. It sounds like a tumor, but they don't know if it's cancerous or not.

Well your thyroid gland is part of what regulates your body temperature. My grandmother had Graves Disease (a form of hyperthyroidism) and before she ultimately had to have her thyroid gland destroyed, she would get hot very easily. Maybe if there's some kind of mass on your thyroid gland it's messing with your body's ability to control its own temperature, or it's your body's response to the abnormal cells themselves.

Or you have lupus.

"Hypoechoic" means that the lump appears dark on whatever scan they did. This could be ominous, or it may mean nothing, but usually if something is opaque and isn't supposed to be they will check it out further.
