Due to a recent incident in Los Angeles, we have decided to cancel the event in our theatres as the safety and security of our guests and associates at our theatres is top priority. "

The issue is age, not race. LA happens to have a LOT of hispanic-American teenagers, so based on that it's easy to blame it on race since your eyes notice a lot of people who don't look like you (if you're not hispanic).
Interpol did a free album release party last August in Hollywood. It ended up "sold out", but those of us who didn't pick up free tix just watched from nearby sidewalks and stuff. Lots of people of all races and backgrounds, including hispanic, and no problems at all... because almost everyone was over 20.
It's an age issue. These kids aren't mature enough to behave in large group situations, and if the cops tell them to do ANYTHING (like clear the road), they want to fight back because they're rebellious and think all authority is bad authority. |

Very well said. The 21+ crowd still has problems, but at least we have common sense not to riot over a DJ/movie. I guarantee you 95% of the crowd that went to the Kaskade thing have no clue what's going on with the debt ceiling. How about we riot for something meaningful like that? |

How would you know that he was on drugs and not just horribly ill (a seizure, for example)? |
