oh, this thread is really gonna get flamin'
i like few select eminem's songs like cleaning out my closet, hailie's song, sing for the moment, stan... his lyrics are some of the MOST intelligent and genious lyrics i've ever heard... and the way he puts them is cool too...
i like the fact that those songs aren't about nothing, like almost all the n'sync/bs/pop- songs... there is live emotion in his songs, and it's not fake... those of you who say he's an idiot: how can an idiot write such lyrics?
i'm not saying i like eminem or what he does. i'm saying i like his songs. it's the same thing as saying that i don't like tiesto, but i like his tracks and livesets.
it's just i think that most of you people hate him because he's not trance and he said that "nobody listens to techno". i know that some of you people simply hate other genres of music because you think those genres are too commercial and you wanna be "underground"...
that's my 10 cents, my 2 cents are free. it's my opinion and i don't expect anyone to change anyone by just typing that out. |

for me, its not that he makes fun of techno (in his mind all dance music), or that he's too "commercial", i just dont like him or his music because his lyrics are depressing and it scares me that there are actually people like him and that people think its normal to talk about killing people...also, as someone i met this summer said, ur not really a good rapper if u have to curse to rhyme, because that just shows that u can't think of anything good to rhyme... |

Personally, I don't like him very much. He's got some tallent, but he spends most time judging other people instead of improving his work (who he thinks he is to judge Moby!?). I've got here "Without me (acapella)" with "Katana - Fancy Fair"... I mixed it because I was trying to get a friend of mine into trance, but she's a huge Eminem fan. First, I'll mix them - then, she'll be prepared for the real thing :D |

Eminem is one of my favorite rappers these days. Rap totally sucks without him. Im a hardcore Tupac fan...and once Tupac died and they stopped coming out with new stuff from him, It opened the door for Trance to get my attention. Eminem is a great lyricist, he uses sick rhyme schemes to get his messages across. I always lookin for subliminal messages in his rhymes...there are plenty to find. From his new cd.....tunes that must be checked out are

If I'm not mistaken, Moby said some bad stuff about Eminem on his webpage first...which is why Eminem dissed Moby on his MTV video.
As for him swearing all the time, are you guys KIDDING ME!? for as long as hiphop/rap has been around, they've been hand and hand! and u'r dissing a guys talent just cuz he swears? sure, there's a place for swearing and and a place for not swearing, but yo, just cuz a dude swears dun mean he can't rap....it's all part of the genre/culture kinda thing. |

Arg, Eminem wasn't ever supposed to be a mainstream artist, he ended up being one due to his skill. How is he a product of record companies if he writes his own lyrics and does alot of his own production anyways? |

One thing everyone probably would agree with:
His videos are far more entertaining than from those other rappers like Nelly which only show dumb naked chicks and some bad ass ugly cars like Lexus LS430/Mercedes SL-600 with chrome rims...

AMEN :) I don't mind hiphop, certainly don't like it either, but to each their own... what I do, flat out, HATE is hiphop 'culture' :whip: pimping, bitches, profanity..... robbing liquor stores in music videos, agression... Why would you want to glorify those things? Spend the time on making decent music instead :rolleyes: |
