Partly that; however, to me it seems the negative effects of circumcision are negligable as are the benefits. I ultimately see it as a net-zero proposition (assuming no complications with the proceedure). I don't see there as being any strong reasons for either having it done or not (excluding religious belief). I don't have a strong position for or against circumcision itself; my only position is that since it isn't my penis I don't feel I should be the one making the decision. |

We felt the same about they pros and cons as well...
Until we saw those pictures...
We made up our minds very quickly after that...
Speaking on getting it done later in life, isn't it a much bigger, more risky deal?? |

I'm not certain whether or not it's more risky; however, the pain is nearly certain to be more pronounced (or at least persons who have it done as adults are better able to articulate the severity and duration of the pain/discomfort then are children). My understanding is that AJ got circumcised as an adult (not certain what motivated that decision)... it's too bad some jaded, jilted, jealous homewrecker chased him off; otherwise we could ask him. |

I'm only going to respond to this because the answer to your question was included in the article that PKC posted.
"The theory behind the benefits of circumcision is that the inner foreskin is an easy entry point for HIV. It is rich in so-called Langerhans cells, tissue that the AIDS virus easily latches on to and penetrates."
I don't really hold an opinion one way or another, I was only making a quick couple of posts to point out that studies have made the claim that circumcision can reduce your chances of contracting STD's. So far, only one poster has actually responded to that information, and he did it without name calling or being a complete tool like you and Lunar, and his information and counter-points (questioning the methods of the study) have been noted. |
