There are many others using foreskin for medical research. No permission is asked to use the samples either. We think they just put it in the medical waste bin, but this is not always the case. Human tissue is a valuable commodity in the science world.
I'm all for this, medical research saves lives, but it is sneaky to do this without the public at large knowing what is happening to their child's skin...even if it would otherwise be discarded.
The business of foreskin is not exactly the backbone of the economy, but the vested interest both scientifically and financially are still large enough to lobby for circumcision. I'm biased for sure, but find this somewhat unethical. |

i have no problem with my sons foreskin being used for medical research as long as it's not being sold. i also listed both my kids as organ donors. but i'm sure that's another ing horrible grotesque choice i've made. :stongue: |

Watching the Bull episode and after watching the horrible, bloody scenes of the little boys' foreskins and hearing them scream like they were suffering the most traumatic pain ever imaginable, I can safely say that circumcision on male infants is as much of a human rights violation as it is on female infants.
And all this to prevent them from jerking off. This moral is sickening me and should in one way or another be abolished (without forcing a ban of course). |

You have no problem paying for something in which the medical institution might profit on though? I have no qualms with the actual research itself.
I'm not anti circumcision meg, I'm "pro choice" (how cliche). |

watch the episode. It is pretty graphic and brutal. Obviously they position themselves more to one side on the show, but they do give time to both sides and make fun of both. I actually like that show quite a bit...i only recently downloaded errr bought the 8 seasons that exist.:p |
