I had to listen to these clips a few times to be sure what I was hearing was correct. And yep, make no mistake about it. Where is the quality control?

Fail! And alot of stuff is in the wrong genre as well.

Beatport has no interest in setting up a proper quality control, as long as it doesn't overcharge their customer support. The more releases they have on their site the more money they make, since it cost them almost nothing to increase the bandwidth and server space to add further releases.

OK seriously, do you think anyone is going to buy those two tracks I posted? I mean really??

:stongue:

If you dig the Trance charts, you'll hear so much GARBAGE, i mean literally, not just because the track is bad but its quality is very very poor.

Shame...

Maybe yes, maybe not. The point of my answer is that this is not a failure of Beatport as your title thread suggest, it is a failure of the EDM industry or more in general the music industry. Beatport is just taking advantage of its dominating position, those that are damaged by the release of such tracks are producers that still release quality music. But since quality music only comes in limited quantities it is not in Beatport interest to apply any type of quality filter and thus it just leaves to labels and artists to adjust themselves.

This is nothing new, and I'm talking about within the record industry, not just on Beatport. I've spent enough time at record stores digging through vinyl, and there have always been producers that don't properly master their music and labels that will put out said horrible-quality tracks. It's a hell of a lot more common than you'd think.
