If you say that Oakie sucks, then you get out on deep water... It's like saying that Michael jackson sucks at pop because he hasn't released anything substancial for ages.
And why get all pissed of at the poor Oakie? You should be damn happy for what he has given us this far of his carrear!! Be greatful! |

| IMO it takes an open minded person to give electronica a chance. I did and loved it. Some of you lost that along the way in pretending to be cool by going along with other people think. Use your own voice and show that you got a mind of your own. Dont leech of other people opinions. and when you do give YOUR OWN OPINION do it with respect. DONT go saying this sucks if you havent even heard the track just because who is behind the track. |

I can't see how you could ever say that if Oakey went from trance to house then he would have 'sold out' anyway, because he'd have made considerably more by making a banging trance album and releasing every tune as a single with remixes by Tiesto/Dumonde/Fatboy Slim/whoever the he likes. He's just made an album full of tunes that he wanted to make, and, shock horror, they're not all trance. Some of them don't actually fit into categories, which is great.
Oakey has never stood still for too long. He's done baggy and trip-hop. Remember Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy? The mix you heard on the radio was his. He's done all sorts of stuff and he'll keep moving, and good for him. |

| why do people always say that a dj is "selling out" when their musical interests change? if you listened to as much music as a dj does then you'd probably get bored of hearing/spinning/producing the same type of stuff all the time too. |
