I'm really surprised they decided to make Labour of Love a 2 night event and not a landmark party like a 15 year anniversary (especially considering their anniversary parties used to be 2 nights) |

| I don't ever remember the anniversary parties being 2 nights long. On Saturday there would usually be a big name. But Sunday has always been the Guvs birthday celebration. |

| Maybe they decided it wouldn't work so close to the 2 day LoL but I agree this lineup should be better for a 15 year anniversary. Just based on the fact it's lasted 15 years. Most clubs don't make 5 years, let alone 10, let alone 15. Pretty massive thing to be celebrating imo. |

A lot of the big guys have come through already and they have a pretty big Halloween party, so I don't know how crazy they could go for this one.
15 years is amazing though. I still miss the chains they used to have hanging... |

The marketing behind the 2 day LoL event was to compete with other big events happening around the time such as WEMF, EZ, Beta 2 day, 2 night festival north of Guelph not too long ago, and all of the massive bookings that were going on in Montreal that weekend.
People really can't afford to go to all of these events. Your wallet and body both take a beating so I think they tried something new for their marketing campaign since people had a choice of spending their nights in a club or outside for a festival. I'm pretty sure a 1 night LoL just wasn't going to cut it so they came up with something more lucrative. |

You're right in the sense that it was only a big name or two on the Saturday but it was still considered part of their anniversary

i will never forget the 7 year anni. my first time ever at guv and have been hooked ever since!! the anniversary parties/lineups just used to be mindblowing!!! miss those days |
