I'm not sure if you're serious, but since I don't see the humor in your post I'm going to assume you are and answer you seriously - I think once you delete your account your status updates disappear so that post would only be up for a couple of seconds. |

Yea true, but if you use email then what's the need for facebook other than the wall function? I guess my main question is this - under what circumstances would you prefer to write on someone's wall instead of sending them a personal message? |
In my opinion, Facebook is less about conducting and maintaining very personal relationships with a select few individuals but more about being broadly social with a larger group, hence the wall. |

Spot on. And I'm more interested in maintaining personal relationships, so deleting facebook is more of a way to encourage people to get in touch with me personally instead of continuing our relationship publicly. Not to say you can't do both, but I normally don't receive a facebook message AND an email from someone on the same day. |

If you just deactivated your account, its still there and you can re-activate at any time...

Follow that... or google "Delete Facebook Account" and look at what they tell you.
It will be around for 14 days following your request, so dont login, make sure any mobile devices you have or other software doesn't log in, etc, otherwise it will stop the process of deletion.
Get rid of it!
I have never fully engaged in social networking sites, and never plan to do so. Its a good feeling, helps make the internet feel more... not stupid. |

I only use it for messaging functions now...the rest has become a bit tired, but once in awhile there are lulz to be had. It is also a great tool to keep on top of new releases, and being able to contact artists directly can also help you get your hands on records that are not quite released yet...Omar s style, but without the odd email responses.
I think Facebook would be better if I trimmed down how many friends I have, because keeping up with a feed with a big friends list can be almost impossible...not to mention the invites are out of control...
to say it is useless is silly, but social media has lost a bit of it's fun factor to me...I never even bothered with google+. I communicate way more with texting now. |

| 1/3 of my friends are hidden from my feed. A nice way to cut down what I see without them asking why I unfriended them. As for invites, just delete the invite and tick the 'ignore all invites from' box from common offenders. Plus, never add promoters. Duh. |

yeah, I'm just too lazy to go through my friends list and trim. I don't add/accept friends anymore, and since I made my profile private, and took my Facebook link off soundcloud it isn't so bad anymore...it's still like TA though, as in it's past it's prime.
Facebook is great if you are selling something...like my qwikster twitter account. |

yes, god bless it... but also harder to juggle more than one chick.
not even talking about cheating, if you're in a relationship, you're in a relationship.
but if you're single, even trying to date around, these hos add you on FB and then battle each other on your wall for you attention... i guess it's amusing in the end. |

This is the main reason I had to think twice before deleting my account. It is surprisingly VERY helpful in this sense. I still have google+ cause its less annoying so I'm gonna try to figure out if I can get all the new releases and artist updates on there. I'm sure there's a way. |

Hah, VERY TRUE. Facebook could be a real block sometimes. |

| I've recently been considering leaving Facebook and resorting to just using Twitter. Came to the conclusion that Facebook does have it's perks, though. |
