I like JP. But honestly... a weekly residency at one of the bigger (and supposedly better...) clubs in NYC?

I agree with the poster above who said that NYC needs REAL residencies. , get a bi-monthly Markus residency at one of the clubs around here... I bet he'd do it.

Not to say that New York is necessarily dead when it comes to EDM... the new era of pop-EDM might have a strong influence in this area, but lets not forget that there are still great people putting on great shows... take PTN Classics for example. Brad threw the best party I've been to in 2 years, and I've been all over.

What is the biggest roadblock to us getting a S&D residency again? Is it:

-No club can put up the money to book them once a month for an extended period of time?

-They're getting too old to adjust their travel schedules such that they're in NYC together once per month?

-They don't want to play together that often?

-It would be too much like Twilo and they don't want to live in the past?

-There is no current venue they'd want to do it at?

Guys like Marcus are too popular to dedicate to a bi-monthly residency. They have a bunch of other cities they want(need) to visit. All these residencies that have happened in nyc are with DJ's that are either local or have not reached a certain level of popularity. Of course there are some rare exceptions but not common anymore.

Sadly those days are long gone. See the threads for Deadmouse selling out 6 nights at Roseland, Avicii selling out in 2 minutes and crashing ticket servers and SHM playing MSG.

It's a new era in EDM. A ty, over produced, whack era.

+1.. As Mr. Mugatu said in Zoolander, "I feel like I'm on crazy pills."

Markus has multiple residencies, doesn't he? Even monthly ones, I think...

It's not the money, I dont think they get along all that much anymore. Plus, Sasha's style has changed so much the past few years. Total snoozefest. Guy used to be untouchable.

Sasha isn't what he used to be, though I still think he puts on a good set. Last time I saw Digweed (2 years ago? Maybe a little less?) he put on a great set.

I don't think Digweed and Sasha are very buddy buddy anymore. However, I do believe Sasha has a home in NYC, right? That's a +1 toward a residency for him =)

S&D don't play together right now for any gigs... what i had heard was they felt their styles had grown apart that it didn't make sense to play together... doesn't mean they won't do it again in the future though.

as to D36, i was in town on business and happened to check out the venue for Victor Calderone's night back in late August. To me, the club seemed like a smaller version of Pacha. Nothing revolutionary there but nothing wrong with it either.
